Sound & Visions includes a 0:42 track of the SNL per4mance called "Program sign off" with some intrumental music and it's unclear to me whether this intrumental was performed by prince's band or if it was incidental music (its inclusion here suggest it was Prince but...)

Could anyone clear this? Thanks

I could be wrong but I think at the end of the show when everyone is on stage saying goodnight, Prince was there but ran away pretty fast and the house band plays a closing theme during this part.

Just watched it, It's the house band that plays the "sign off" music, you can see them play in the background when the end credits go up. Prince is standing clapping and smiling.
