i think pretty much any musician would jump at the chance, for the experience or what you can learn from him. I wouldn't as a fan, i'd be too upset if he was a douche.

I would work with him for the experience, but not plan on it being any kind of long term.
I'm firmly planted in denial

Unless you burn your bridges with him, far as i can tell you can always come back anytime if he asks you back, so long as you've been competant. Come on, It is an honour to be in his band, if you love playing it must be great, Long or short term it doesn't matter. Lots of past members come back, sit in for one offs etc. That's just like you or me and our relationships right? totally normal. If you continually move with the same crowd thirty years on, there's probably something wrong. Friends for life is a rare thing. Kind of unnatural too.

I'm sorry, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to see him playing basket ball wearing clothes bought from the Nieman Markus boys department.

I wonder if anyone passed on working with him because they hated cold weather.

I love him. He deserves to be loved. I don't like his behavior at all, and again for I don't know how many times, I don't like the way he and his people go about getting $$$ and attention. Care to elaborate?

Probably too good an offer to pass up? You get a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's factory - you might not be Charlie, but becoming a giant blueberry is better than standing outside the gates.

Funny reference. But, seriously, Prince's professional demeanor does seem a lot like Willy Wonka's. He seeks out these random "performers" and probably presents them with a contract similar to that the children had to sign before entrance. You know the one that makes absolutely no sense and has print to gets smaller as it continues. Hell, that's the music industry in general, lol!!! Anyway, there is no lifetime supply of chocolate....
I think I'd rather be outside the gate on this one. So, would I work with him? Yeah, but only under certain circumstances. No, I wouldn't want a Prince-penned cd. I would like to perform with him on stage, though.
