I'd love to see Lovesexy, Dirty Mind, Parade, and Purple Rain if even for the remastered version of When Doves Cry (full-length), which I find far superior to the 45rpm single off "Ultimate". If they do "The Hits/B-Sides", that would be fantastic.

What is the benefit of getting these releases? This is straight from the faq on their web site when I was checking to see what the differences were.

from the faq on their website

"When you purchase an HDtracks file, it is the same quality as a store-purchased CD."

Seems like all they offer is the ability to download in lossless format, but in no way is the music enhanced from the original. Maybe I am missing something here.

Audiophile 96kHz/24bit or audiophile 192kHz/24bit audio.

Higher samplerates and higher bitdepth give a better definition of the sounds in the recording.

Depending on ears, gear and recording one can hear the benefits.

Even faster I accidentally (!) found the 192 KHz HD-tracks files in some nntp using network.

That is B.S. - this line:

"When you purchase an HDtracks file, it is the same quality as a store-purchased CD." What the site is telling you is "If you choose WAV files, or 16-bit, you're getting CD quality." But who would choose that over 192/24bit?

WAV can be 192/24bit.

Interesting that they are focusing on the same albums that were recently reissued on vinyl. That would mean Dirty Mind next. Probably they started with 1999 because that's the one casual fans are most likely to want.

I am still predicting something will happen with Purple Rain next year for the 30th anniversary. If so, that would explain why they are holding it back.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Them master tapes.

See the 1999 from HD-tracks thread.

If you think that CD's sound great then do not bother.

Who says they are from the master tapes? Which master? The same one used for the CD?

And I don't think the CD sounds fine. That's why I'm asking.

I guess you'll have to ask someone else to convince you.

Or else just listen to them hd tracks.
