Why r people trippin' on prince & Larry?

ok,so Larry Graham is Prince's friend...& yet when his name is brought up ppl say stuff in here like "he is STILL hangin with Larry??"
is it because people can't handle the fact he has FRIENDS & the obsessed fanbase can't handle it that THEY aren't the ones sharing a coffee or a meal with Prince?

it is juts something i don't understand.

i know alot of people don't like larry cos he apparently got Prince on2 the Jehovahs Witness religion...
& they r upset they won't hear Darling Nikki or Head in the near future...
but come on people...Larry is a wild musician, gets a crowd happy...
& if Prince & he share a close,productive friendship,More power 2 them.
in this day, where even REAL FRIENDS r hard 2 come by & more importantly stand by you & vice versa...
i think it's cool
smile

peace
love,
Joshy

I like larry...he is a very respectable man, very positive, I like everything about him.

He is right on Princes level, meaning the friendship is equal. They need each other equally the same.
Prince has much respect for Larry and I think thier relationship is cool.

Some people hold a grudge against larry cuz they say Larry has "influenced" him into JW.

I say I give Prince more credit then that, If he is into JW its because HE choses to go that path.
Prince is not some puppet.

Those who dislike Larry, sure give him alot of credit and power over Prince, and even thou they say they love Prince, they sure aint giveing him enough credit of being his own man.

I think the Larry and Prince friendship is a life long thing...and I love it.

much better then some of those others who smiled n his face, and decived him behind his back...fakes.
peace heart

but what i would like 2 know is WHY ppl r pissed at this...
it's Prince's life,he ain't doing anything illegal in being a JW so why r ppl so uptight about it?

that's what i wanna know.
is it because he isn't doing explicit music...etc...?

Cause Larry sucks big time when he's with Prince and everyone knows it.

Can't stand seeing him or hearing him. Boring.

Mr7

Larry is cool and a legend.

His 'influence' on both 'The Rainbow Chilren'(bass on 'The Work'& 'Last December') and the 'ONA' box-set ('Joy in Repetition', '2 nigs united' etc) were pretty good in my opinion.

I saw him open for Prince at Wembley in '98 to a full house. He tore it up.

Every man, regardless of how tough a face he may display in public, needs friends, and they are hard to come by. Many men have formed a bond while in the military, when their lives depend on one another. Other circumstances can produce friendships.
If Larry is Prince's closest friend then so be it. Maybe they're on the road to Emmaus.

A man that has friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

I'll give credit where it's due...
Larry is a great bass player, and he MAY be
a great friend to Prince...those are not
my concerns..

IMO, Larry is boring...Prince should've never
given him the mic...all he does is preach when
he has the mic, when all i want from him is
BASS PLAYIN'..

Religion is not what i want to hear at a concert,
especially from Larry. I'll take a little from
Prince, only because he's the one i came to see..
unfortunately, Prince is preaching a little bit
more these days, and it looks like it's gonna get
worse.

No more cursing?? It's got Larry's influence written
all over that...
A little less sexuality??? That too...

Note to Prince: GOD LIKES FUNK, GOD LIKES SEX..
don't take away that aspect of your music...and if
a four-letter word makes it funkier, mo stanky, then
by all means...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Prince is simply evolving in ways that his listeners can dig or not. I personally think Larry Graham has had a negative effect on the PRODUCT, but not the PERSON. The former, I regret; the latter, I appreciate.

Look, many Prince fans may be at the stage where former P fans were after ATWIAD (he got too weird), or Lovesexy (too religious), and now Rainbow Children (too much of both). I still have faith he can make music that appeals to me. Personally, I wish he'd remain friends with Larry and make him buy a ticket to his concerts or get an appointment to come to the studio.

Nobody likes to be preached to by someone who isn't a parent, a pal or a pastor.

I think Prince was desperate for anwers to live and Larry's quick fix religious crap has put Prince on the wrong track. I think Prince will wake up someday and see this for what it is: mind control! Larry gives me the creep!

Larry is cool. He influenced the Funk through his own method of bass playing. No way 4 prince 2 ignore Larry as a musician. But that they r closest friends, it's phantastic!

Go on and make music!!!
