Why has PRINCE not toured DC in almost 10 years ?

I'll have to admit back in the late 90's / early 00's we were spoiled with Prince shows. I think between 97' and 04' I saw Prince 8 times. The Musicology Tour in 2004 was the last time Prince performed in DC. I know he has been in NYC , but DC is just as important and just as big fan base. Prince if U R listening bring the 3rdeye girls to DC , there are plenty of small clubs like the Howard THeatre that Sheila and Fdeluxe performed at recently. Break the streak ... Please !

He came with Tamar in 2006, but that really doesn't count. I bet he does an East Coast 3rdEyeGirl tour in late May and June and he will hit DC.

I went to all of those shows and aftershows in D.C. (and one in Balto) back then when I lived there. I was on the guestlist for all of those shows.

Did you go to The Capitol Ballroom aftershow?

Prince freestyled the entire show it was crazy. One of the best shows was the Warner Theatre in 2002. My son was born two days before the show and I wasn't sure if we were going to make it. My wife could barely stand up , but we made the show on Easter night. I made a cd with artwork for the NPG Music Club songs and placed the cd on the stage before the show. The curtain went up and the cd was next to Prince's mic stand. Prince looked down at the cd made a face then kicked the cd across the stage , then making the "choiiya" sound he makes. It was sad but funny at the same time. I miss those old days when the NPG Members were always VIP's.

Because he knows that the cities with the strictest gun-control laws have the absloute worst gun-related violence. Too dangerous.

I really hope this is a joke......I agree, The Howard Theatre would be a good venue for him to bring this tour. It's beautiful inside, and has so much history.

I was joking about those undeniable facts being his actual reasons for not playing DC, but those undeniable facts are not a joke. They are undeniable facts. It's almost impossible to get a gun in NYC, Chicago, and DC yet those cities have the worst viilent gun-related crime in the country. That's no joke and neither is it opinion. Most criminals don't buy guns legally anyway, so gun laws not only contradict the constitution as interpreted by the high court but they also penalize nobody but law-abiding citizens. I'm not saying I know for a fact that the prohibitive, (and therefore unconstitutional) gun laws are directly related to the increased gun violence, (the idea that if guns are outlwed only outlaws will have guns, perhaps?) but if they're not related that's one hell of an unlikely coincidence.

I saw him at the Warmer Theatre back in '93. That would be a great place for this new show. I miss DC. He'll never come to the toilet clog called Wichita I'm afraid.

Steak finger, go read this article of the Constitution again. It's written in the language of a newborn country that didnt have a real army, so the citizens had to be armed to be ready to fight. Don't get me on my soapbox up in here!

Sounds wonderful. Do you remember when he came to DC in 1998 and it was basically announced about five days before the show that he was going to be here. That was a fun time. The best folks are at the DC shows. Met some new friends there and one of the friends has already passed in his car from cancer. He stayed beautiful to the end and wanted his wife and I to experience more PRN shows in DC after his passing. But, it is SOOOO much fun to go to NYC for shows.

Wanted: A special some1 who can raise the sky in DC with the music pumping through him as well as 3 beautiful and talented female musicians.
