If he was just there for the performance and the art he would not do that.

I'll just call bullshyt on this. For me, the implication that a sampler set cannot be

1) performance

2) art

is absurd.

I did not say he wasn't happy.

I just made the point that money is clearly an issue here w.r.t. the art performed at the concert.

Oh I get it , u expect to see Prince for free! Well isn't that a nice fantasy lol!

Are you stupid or what!?

Please read what I wrote.

Where did I write that shows should be for free?

Why can't you understand that P feels to compensate for the high price by mulling the 3rd eye girl concept with some sampler set? (even when in a short show, even when in a small venue, even when the tickets are not cheap)

Hardcore fans could care for a hit-less show. (or anything that gets close)

Absurd?

What if I were pressing the keys on that very same sampler with old P sounds?

Would I be performing? Sure. Would you like watching it?

Would I be doing something with art?

Now if P would not press and hold some keys on the sampler but grab a bass, a guitar or a keyboard and do a real and full song with his band.

Would that be art? Would that be a performance?

P doing anything with a sampler set is lame and dilutes the 'real musicians' concept.

I discern here between samples in the songs like e.g. in the Gold tour and a song performed based on the sample.

Huh!?

I can skip a tour without problems.

And him doing a sampler set shows less of the band than while normally doing a song.

You did not really respond to my stament. Just claiming that it's dead is no argument.

So please do give an argument.

and it's starting to stink alittle. If you went to more Concerts maybe you could understand , but it's obvious u don't get out much

You appear to be jealous about the apparent energy of my online persona.

How in the world would you know what I do and why would that be relevant?

Please do not err away from the topic!

The ignorance and sexism on this site by posters continues to amaze. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde; giving us the opinion of the uneducated keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the masses.

And I think I've checked out from this conversation. I don't know what qualifies as as a "real musician" or not, but I definitely know that I'm kind of over the illegitimization of others efforts as not being "real art." I'm just not a snob. It ain't my thing. My background of listening is inclusive of early DIY hardcore punk as well as John Cage. I'm pretty appreciate of art: period. The "real" vs "not real" is a conversation I don't know I want to be a part of right now.

Guess if that is true, we should expect to see them perform with Prince at the Billboard awards instead of the NPG.

Why do you have to ask that?

I did make a relation with the topic, the 3rd eye girl concept and relates ideas.

You chose to ignore the discussion and instead post stupid comments that had nothing to do with reality at all.

Being out of real arguments you started mentioning dead horses, thinking that by doing that the discussion was over.

That was what you did with the topic.
