Anyone remember the P.M.R.C.?

...and Tipper Gore...and the "flithy fifteen"?

I sure do, I swear Tipper was the most hated woman in my school.
But now I realize that she was just trying to get something that warned parents about what they're kids were listening to and that she wasn't the anti-christ.

Isn't it amaizing how much Prince has affected music?
Had he never done "darling nikk" there might not have ever been a warning label on records, isn't that interesting?

I remember all the hoopla with Tipper and the PMRC back in the 80s.

Tipper was anathema to me and all my Prince fan friends at the time.

In retrospect I now agree with what she was doing, but back then we just thought she was an uptight bigmouth. confused

And yes, Prince has definitely left more of a mark on the landscape of music than the general public probably realizes.

My how times change, I remember Miss Tipper parading around saying we have to protect the children, and then in 2000, she was for Same Sex Marriage. Did she forget about the Children?
How you gonna get my back when you fronting.

Anti-Rock: The Opposition to Rock'N'Roll
by Linda Martin and Kerry Segrave

Covers that episodal blip in recent history.
So much for "in the name of the children" politics.

Why should same-sex marriage affect children???

As for the P.M.R.C. I don't believe in censorship but certification is fine by me.

No, I don't think she did - she probably thought that a child would be well looked after by two people who were together despite your kind of ignorance, just as well, if not better than by two people who got married because it is the done thing, and then realised it was the wrong thing and started beating the shit out of each other.

What exactly is the connection between sexually explicit lyrics and gay people? Are you telling straight couples don't have sex? Moron.

Why do I have to be a Moron? (thank you very much)

I think Gay people have a right to be Gay, But I don't think that Gay marriage should be seen as Normal.
You can have Sex with who ever you want, I don't care, just don't tell me to tell my children that it is normal. Because it is not.

Also are you saying that Gay people don't beat the shit out of each other. As a matter of fact, The gay people I know are much more Jealous and possesive that any straight people that I know. And the black eys and busted lips are frequent.

Mrs Gore was concerned about Prince saying Jacking off with a magazine. Now that is bad, but same Sex Marriage is OK. I am sure there is more than jacking off going on.
I don't mean to offend you, after all it is my views.
How you gonna get my back when you fronting.
