I mean, you'd think after 30 years of constant ouput people would be thankful the little man is still around and active.

Perhaps being one of the most prolific mainstream artists of recent times has made his fans greedy or given them some kind of misguided notion that they are perhaps entitled to new product from Prince.

How about a little bit of love and appreciation for everything he's given us over the years? Yeah, I know he can be a tool at times, but chances are, if you're reading this, Prince has enriched all our lives with his music and I think that should count for something.

I agree. Yes he can make being a fan difficult sometimes but if you look at his complete catalog, studio work, released, unreleased, demos, live versons, live performances, big venues, small venues, after shows, etc, the overall experience has been wonderful and I simply feel sorry for fans who are upset or having a hard time with the Prince of the now. They will just be miserable permanently.

Your poor choice of words is exactly the reason why those who have the best argument in this are the worst in expressing it.

I agree that Prince's music is art, but he treats it as just a product lately. Get paid first.

.

When Prince hinted that 20Ten would be his last album, sad to say but I was a bit relieved. In a strange way I thought only NOW can I fully absorb this body of work and fully appreciate it.

.

Most musicians release an album every 2-4 years, which means that when their latest album comes out you have about 2 years to absorb it and appreciate it. I think as Prince fans, we don't fully absorb "now" before the "what next" sets in. Again, Prince trained us to act this way, so it's not really our fault.

.

Being a Prince fan is also not "easy". Yes, his music is easy to listen to, but the sheer amount of it makes you an instant collector. 30+ albums is a lot to take in, especially for younger fans who have to go back and find that stuff. I can't imagine discovering his music now and trying to hear it all at once.

I think that, being extremely prolific has been a blessing and a curse for Prince. There's no way that any artist could release that much music and be truly "inspired" everytime.Prince once said that, when he releases a new album and the public is listening to it,he's already onto the next project. There's a good and bad side to that.

Yep, because it can get sloppy at that point

I'll still take it....................no such thing as 2 much music.

haha. I'm sorry you feel my choice of words are poor. I guess I just dont get worked up over Prince's antics, especially when my overall experience has been fun and it has not affected me personally in any negative way. I pick and choose when i want to support him and when i dont, which is actually now since I'm not feeling this 3rd Eye band. some people, maybe I should stress the word "some" here do express opinions that seem like they are personally hurt that the prince from the past is long gone or he's not giving them what they want.
