Prince kills me lol whats with the snippets

We get cool songs that are cut short, Now we get a song that has the beginning cut out

Some random forgettable drawn out ad lib babel

The guitar near the end is ok shrug But nothing like the solo we are use to

If he threw in the old guitar riff it be much better

Don't get me wrong its cool, But it doesn't excite me

But hey its free to listen to so no complaints here stoned

^ yeah that. I like this song and sound but this snippets contains a middle section with not really much happening.

Please take 3rd Eye girl to one of the last two Montreux shows! I love this sound, I mean really love it!

I understand those that don't like it, because Prince is a victim of his own diversity and he will never, ever please every one of his fans, it's actually impossible for him to do so.

For the first 30 seconds I wasn't sure.... Then it hit me and now I don't want it to ever stop.

Ida's fat groovy bass yes

Donna's dreamy guitar licks yes

Hanna's rocking drums yes

Prince innuendo and raspy vocals yes

I really want to hear this band in the UK, I hope he commits to this project. They sound like a band just starting out and I think if by the end of a full year with him they will be a totally locked and rocking unit that could create a couple of amazing records and tours.

Larry must have moved to another planet. Keep him there!

I'm not gonna hate on the track.....sure, I've heard better renditions from Prince with other incarnations of his band, but hey, it's always cool to hear it.

Can anyone who was at any of the shows give an idea how 2 Young 2 Dare sounds live?

Yeah what's with these explicit lyrics suddenly! Also in When We're Dancing Close and Slow, someone reported he sang the original line "I wanna ... inside u". eek Holy sugar!

The bass is the best imho. Prince says "Ida you're hurtin' us with that bass".

I am not that enthusiastic over this live version, -- like you girls and boys seems to be.

.

I very much prefer to listen to the original by Prince & The Revolution...... the studio 1985 version.

.

Sorry for spoiling the party, I am really doing my best to like it. boxed

.

the guitar part is great though, that doesn't fail... cool

I'm not feeling this either. Sounds weak to me, BUT...

The original version of 'She's Always In My Hair' was Prince on all instruments... there was no Revolution involvement.

I dig the guitar end solo on this but have 2 say I heard better versions of this song which happens 2 b a fav of mine. I dunno...it's cool he wanna try a new way 2 play this but somehow there's something missing here...

ok, AND NOW follow the drummer for a minute.... AND you'll know what's missing! Attention: 0 Groove! It's quite shocking that Prince is working with her if I listen to that snippet. Of course she's a nice person and all that. maybe she had to take a break after Endorphinem, Screwdriver, I like it there, Guitar...... dunno?

she is the weakest link, I agree with you. But saw all 4 shows and she did not take away from the awesome guitar frenzy that they were. So incredible these shows!!!

Agreed, but then again I can't really compare the studio version to this version, because to me the band he has now is weaker than both Prince in a studio by himself and The Revolution. So I agree, it's OK to me as well. The drummer isnt good to me either, it's quite generic

to be honest and def not on Prince's level.

That was me! DOT ORG EXCLUSIVE! (I'm kidding!). He said it everytime I heard the song during the sets. Perhaps the guy has come to a place (or has been to a place) that seperates the vulgarity from the sexuality. I don't know what it is, but you can hear a pin drop during part of the set, so it's a bit of a stark contrast and it stands out if you know what to listen for. I think casual fans were like "What did he just say?" And there were a handful of us who squealed and shrieked and howled after he said it. I think the more people anticipate it at future shows, the bigger the response will be.

remember this is just a live performance, he often changes an arrangement for one of his songs. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt, I would still love to see this. Princes voice is pretty good.

To me this beats the original version (as I've never really been a fan of it), this version sounds more funky and up to date....and yes he does sound more 'live' and alive than he has for a bit....

Have nothing but contempt for Ayn Rand. But back to the subject of the thread...it has been really frustrating with Prince with these abbreviated teasers going back to the 20Ten CD... Just when the music gets you going, it is cut off... mad

I'm getting stressed - 2 "not feeling it" posts in the last few days !
I'm positive about 3rdEG and this direction but not slowed down re-works of classics .
Having not seen him live since 2007 at the O2 I've not heard the slower versions of LRC, ICNTTPOYM, LGC & now ... Hair in person but...
A Corvette is a fast car ; Let's Go crazy as a title speaks for itself - these songs surely aren't meant to be slow ?
Rather than an interesting re-interpretation or arrangement of a song, this is just a slowing of the pace and the. The same repeated yearning to "slow down!! " or "never !" and now "always !" - he's just rePeating the same "trick".
Just not feeling these slow reworkings - LGC was decent!
Might be different hearing / seeing it in person ?
Mmmm

I saw and heard the slow version of LRC live in concert and it was terrific! Can't speak for the more recent re-workings of old classics...but what I heard was much better live than any recording of it. Prince is still terrific live, if not on recordings.
