Yeah, I'm a little suspicious, too... About whether this will be a Prince album or a protegee album pushed by Prince. There is a difference. Guess we'll have to wait and see... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I can't get too excited about this.
So far, the trax i have heard possibly off of it (Screw, LOL, FULU) have ranged from some of the most awful things i have ever heard from Paisley (LOL) to fairly decent (FULU).
This 3rdEye thing is a good idea, but i think the execution has been awful. It has minimal chance of fan success, nevermind public success.
At this moment, because it's been so long, i can only get fammy again over an all new, solo Prince effort.
Damn, i used to be super positive, but this new stuff is really bad.
However, i'll always be glad he's choosing to remain happy and active. [Edited 4/14/13 8:26am] This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

Well according to the Doc it's a Prince & 3rdEyeGirl album so I assume it's not just a protegee album [Edited 4/14/13 14:19pm] Welcome 2 The Dawn

The songs sound lightweight in content but with heavy makeup.
All we heard was live. I hope it doesn't do a Fury as with the SNL Version and the more tamed cd release. Looks likje Donna aloude Plectrum Electrum to be used. [Edited 4/14/13 22:03pm]

Where did it say that a CD was coming soon? I just see interpretation. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Where have you been seriously?
It is no interpretation. It is official news from PP given to the Doc. News that has been retweeted by Donna Grantis and Hannah Ford btw.

Did they say:
`ALBUM WILL BE IN STORES SOON`? or 'CD IS BEING PREPEARED'? or anything like that?
I do not want the interpretations, let me do that for my self please. Thanks. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I sort of wish that he would not release another super crappy album and just tour. He should retire from recording soon.

I'm hoping that Liathach will find a home on this album or as a b-side somewhere. The live version he did during the Dakota show was stunningly beautiful. tonight the stars are out

I wont be buying this- It does ZERO for me.. If i want the kind of Rock that they are trying to make, I'll listen to the real stuff, Hendrix & Led Zeppelin! Maybe they should have let Lenny Kravitz produce it to get at least the sounds rocking right.

I liked some of the new songs, hated others. The one i liked the most was Breakfast can wait, the least was this terrible Fix Ur Life Up. Wonder if these songs are going to be on the cd. 3rd eye... well, not impressed by that band. -Wtv u heard bout me is true,I change the rules n do what I wanna do.[Im n love w God,He's the only way - NOT!]We know we gotta die some day,so Im gon have fun evr MF night!Im gon 2 another life. How bout u?

I have some high expectations since I really liked 20Ten, thought it was his best pos-00 album alongside Lotusflower. (Most cohesive, good from begining to end, that is). -Wtv u heard bout me is true,I change the rules n do what I wanna do.[Im n love w God,He's the only way - NOT!]We know we gotta die some day,so Im gon have fun evr MF night!Im gon 2 another life. How bout u?

I have heard at least one song that was not terrible...Breakfast In Bed. The rest is so awful.

So what songs could be on the new album?
At the moment, I can think of:
Plectrum Electrum Screwdriver (remix version) Rock and Roll Love Affair (remix version) Breakfast Can Wait Boyfriend That Girl Thang Liathach Chapter and Verse Same Page Different Book Down Ain't Goin Miss U 2 Young 2 Dare
U Will B (With me)
Check the Record - is this a new song or a recording of someone elses song
Does anyone think he would put on the different versions of these two? Let's go Crazy I Could Never Take the Place
I think I could never take the place could be a good one to actually release, in a way it reminds me of the sinead o'connor Nothing Compares
From what I heard it wouldn't be such a bad album, nothing revolutionary but not bad.

I hope that the new album doesn't contain lots of songs we already heard, unfortunately that could be the case. Anyway I real hope 2 young 2 dare, screwdriver remix, down, u will b and fix ur life up will be on that album Welcome 2 The Dawn

We all know from experience that "coming soon" from Prince can mean as long as 18 months.... And sometimes NEVER. ...just sayin', for those of us who might be inclined to "Count the days".

And how do we REALLY know that Prince DOES NOT Record ANYMORE? 'Plectrum Electrum' look pretty newly recorded and performed. Hmmmmmmm.Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave!

Looking for all these songs among so many sites where they've been shut down is irritating even for me, and Im a die-hard fan. I think the promotion tactics Prince's adopting really sucks and are NOT helping a good number of people, especially non-fans, to know his new music. He definately need to revise that, imo. People need to HEAR your music in the internet, Prince! What's so wrong with that? I remember I liked some of the songs above but it'll take eternity till I find them again to listen on the web. Lana Del Rey's album was the FOURTH BEST SELLING ALBUM OF 2012. Sold 2,9 million copies worldwide, pretty good for today's standards. And she made her name and fame in the youtube. Prince has all the vibe and the rich career to atract new fans, many people know his music very little. I think he's missing a big chance with the internet. -Wtv u heard bout me is true,I change the rules n do what I wanna do.[Im n love w God,He's the only way - NOT!]We know we gotta die some day,so Im gon have fun evr MF night!Im gon 2 another life. How bout u?

My preferable new album might sound/look like this :
1. Check The Record (long version) 2. Plectrum Electrum 3. Liathach ( vocal version) 4. The Breakdown 5. Rock and Roll Love Affair (extended version) 6. Screwdriver (remix version) 7. I Could Never Take the Place (new version) 8. U Will B (With Me) (duet with Lana Del Rey why not) Side two : 1. FixUrLiveUp 2. Ain't Goin' Miss U 3. 2 Young 2 Dare 4. That Girl Thang (new version) 5. Chapter and Verse (with D'Angelo) 6. Boyfriend 7. Breakfast Can Wait 8. Down Extra bonus trax/CD : 1. Let's Go Crazy (new slow boogie studio version) 2. Same Page Different Book (new Version) 3. Live Out Loud ( prince & Donna vox) 4. Cause And Effect (new version) 5. She's Always In My Hair (new studio version with 3rdEyeGirl) 6. 3rdEyeGirl & Prince rehearsal rockumentary (video by M. Dube) I can dream, right ?! [Edited 4/17/13 1:18am] "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. So there is a CD. A CD-R probably, or maybe even a mixed tape. So what? Is the track listing final? Is the mixing final? Is he done with production? How does he consider letting people hear this album? Either from a recording or playing stuff? Is it testing out or playing it proudly?
I believe when there is a (retail) CD when a major label announces it (and even then..) or when I have the CD in my sweaty hands.
Sorry, but I've been there. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
