Anybody Know The Original Traclisting For UTCM?

Seeing that Under The Cherry moon was also concieved as a double album, does anybody know what all of the outtakes are? Or does anybody know the original tracklisting?
So far I know of...

A Honest Man
A Wonderful Day
Old Friends For Sale
and even All My Dreams...

thats all I can think of for now, anybody know of any others?
You know pre - Dream Factory Stuff.

As far as I'm aware, Parade was always concieved of as
a single album. I've not even heard a rumor that Prince
ever considered making it a double.

The first version was assembled on May 1st '85,
and was made up of the following tracks:

Wendy's Parade
New Position
I Wonder U
Under The Cherry Moon
Others Here With Us
Life Can Be So Nice
Sometimes It Snows In April
Old Friends 4 Sale
All My Dreams

.

According to the AMG it was origanly going to be a double album. And that's not hard to believe considering the songs that were recorded around that time that are featured in the film, but not on the soundtrack. A Wonderful Day, A Honest Man and Old Friends For sale are heard in the movie if you listen. And All My Dreams was once considered for UTCM as well.

Interesting!

Though I think they're mistaken about the double album bit.
I've seen several tracklists for working versions of
Parade, right up to the time of release,
and all of them have been single albums.

The only tracks included on various versions of Parade
I've seen, that didn't make it onto the final album,
have been...

An Honest Man
Others Here With Us
Love Or Money
Sexual Suicide
Old Friends 4 Sale
All My Dreams

There were some other tracks recorded around that time
but they never made it onto Parade at any stage.

thanks for the info, I have seen similiar track list as the ones you mentioned. I guess if you put in the outtakes damn near every Prince album would be double or triple! wink

Here's a complete list of recordings
Prince made between starting Parade,
and the finished version. Including
the tracks he never intended to use
on Parade (roughly in the order they
were recorded):

Christopher Tracy's Parade / Wendy’s Parade
New Position
I Wonder U
Under The Cherry Moon
My Man
Life Can Be So Nice
Others Here With Us
Old Friends 4 Sale
Sometimes It Snows In April
Hello
Tibet
Evolsidog
Holly Rock
Kiss
All My Dreams
Girls & Boys
Love or Money
Do U Lie?
Alexa De Paris
Venus De Milo
Neon Telephone
The Question Of U
(U Got The) Good Drawers
Splash
Sexual Suicide
Go
My Sex
Empty Room
An Honest Man
Mountains
Anotherloverholenyohead

..quite a productive 8 months big grin

You should be able to find it on the Hub, or WinMX, I know because I'm sharing it myself.

I would like to hear the version of Mia Bocca in the film smile

"A Wonderful Day" was not in the movie. I think you mean "Mia Bocca".

Wonderful Day is in the movie. It's played in the part where Prince and Jerome are getting ready to go to dinner where Jerome says "Honey I'll slap the waves out yo head."

they are indeed very comprehensive in range but i don't care too much for their music journalism. they give almost everything 4 stars and have some very hacky writing at times.

a good reference, but not that great a buyer's guide.
