I don't remember the track that well, but I'm pretty sure I'm remembering a synthesizer bass and if the sound of the bass in my memory is correct I'd be willing to bet money it was sequenced. If so, a computer played it. |

not on the madonna version. he played guitar on the track, but it can only be heard on one of the 12" versions, he also played guitara on keep it together, act of contrition and does most instruments on lovesong
he also recorded his own version of like a prayer, and by alien means was another track offered to madonna, amongst others
one of the dub mixes of like a prayer includes samples of bob george from the black album which was unreleased at the time |

Then it could be: Synthesizer – Jai Winding, Patrick Leonard, Stephen Bray or: Synthesizer [Additional] – Madonna . On various live shows of other artists, I sometimes saw the bassist or the keyboardist perform the bass synth. |

Really?
however, this could just mean that he re-recorded his own backing track to her vocal and submitted it and it was politely declined.

except that's not what it means by recording your own version of a track |
