True. Ray Parker Jr. is doing well making smooth jazz now. Smooth jazz radio stations play his instrumentals. He's made some nice songs in the last few years. He also opened for Chaka recently and stll does shows. When he took breaks, he could afford to.

CNN are vying to get cameras in on this trial. I'd love to see Prince in full on 'Prince World' mode. How awesome!

I wonder if the Prince part will get bootlegged.

The likelihood of Prince being called to testify at this trial is slim to none. Any decent lawyer, can argue why his testimony wouldn't be needed: Prince was in good health at the time of the Musicology Tour and 21 Nights in London tour, Katherine Jackson's assumption that Prince had a "bad experience" working with AEG has never been proven, and their angle that Prince advised MJ about working with AEG is unsubstiated hearsay. If Conrad Murray, is within legal right to plead the fifth amendment on grounds on fear of incriminating himself, surely Prince can get out of staying out of this mix.

^ This makes the most sense and is what is most likely to happen.

However, something very important to remember is that with high profile cases like this one (or OJ, or Casey Anthoney, or Mike Tyson, or The Duke Lacrosse players) the media plays SUCH a huge role. Depending on the way the media spins it, and if the judge has particular leanings, things can become a pretty ridiculous kangaroo court in no time. Anyone who knew ANYTHING about the testimony knew that Tyson was innocent as can be, but the guy ended up behind bars for years anyway. The Duke Lacrosse team never even touched the stripper who they were supposed to have raped, but they were all expelled from school anyway.

When the media starts their cycle they are interested in one thing only, what gets ratings. The truth is such a far second it's not even really factored into the equation. The internet news and the 24hour news cycle will decide if someone is innocent or guilty if it fits a good narrative. If that starts to happen with this case (which I doubt, as it's old news) and the judge is a little wiggy like Ito was, literally ANYTHING could happen.

From what I recall reading, Prince was satisfied with AEG as a sponsor for the tour. Sure they may have been a few sound issues, but in general the O2, 21 nights tour was a major success for him. He might not want to burn that bridge.

Also, I believe Conrad Murray was a doctor Michael was familiar with and had treated with at least a year prior to the rehearsals of This Is It tour. Murray was signed to AEG as a Contractor so that Michael no longer had to pay him from his personal account and Murray would have a consistant salary.

Would be interesting to see Prince on the witness stand though wink

ThankUPrince!

I'm astounded that this case is going to trial. I understand $400 million but $40 billion?! I sympathize for Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson's family but it's hard to empathize when the number is that astronimical. AEG would be crippled in they lost this case, and their reputation would be in the dust.

^^This. However, they may ask for a deposition. If anything Prince would only give a deposition and not show up for the media circus.

Depends on your interpretation of the bible I guess... It is a ridiculous amount of money they are suing for, is it in the hope that the case will be settled out of court? How can they prove that Michael wold have been able to physically do all the shows they sold tickets for? Has Prince ever showed to any of his law suits before?
