Acapella & Instumentals I'm trying to compile a collection of acapellas and instrumentals, this is all I have so far.
Instrumentals
Kiss (CD-Rom source) Sign O The Times (Film Source)
Acapellas
1999 (New Master) (Maxi Single source) Face Down (Remix Vinyl) Come On (Maxi Single)
Is this really it? And, yes, I am refering to versions of album/ single songs, not remixes or instrumental/acapellas that feature on albums.
Does anyone know of any live TV performances the were broadcast in 5.1? Generly the center track is a direct mic feed. [Edited 3/28/13 8:26am] [Edited 3/28/13 10:00am] [Edited 3/28/13 11:04am] Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

If that's all you have, you haven't listened to much Prince. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I think Face Down is the only other acapella that's been released.

Thanks for the back-handed comment, it contributes greatly to the thread.
Out of the 1000's of Prince files on my computer, these just happen to be the only acapellas/ instumentals. [Edited 3/28/13 10:00am] Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

So...out of those "thousands" of files, you don't have For You, C-note, N.E.W.S., Kamasutra, or Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic (there's an instrumental segue on there)? Mmmmkay. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Letitgo (Cavi' Street Instrumental) Face Down Acapella and Instrumental Money Mix TGRES Jason Nevins Remix - instrumental version Superfunkicalifragisexy (Instrumental) - from one of the NPGMC Ahdio shows
MBGITW Mustang Instrumenta and Brian's Mix, and Eric Leeds mix of Eye Hate U - not really the same thing, but closer than nothing.
Yeah, not many :/
I think the OP specifically means acapella and isntrumental versions of other songs. Like a lot of artists release instrumental and acapella versions of singles - or they used to when we had singles!

Then he should say that. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Face Down Acapella is available on a Dutch Promo CD (and quite a few boot compilations) along with the Money Mix instrumental of Face Down
There are individual track break downs for Musicology, Endorphine Machine, Lets Work and Dance On From an NPGMC Sampler that are on Work It 2.0
Oh and the Money Maker Jazz Mix of Get Wild which is an instrumental remix
Oh and an instrumental sample of Loose from the closing credits of the Interactive CD rOM [Edited 3/28/13 10:28am]

Alexa De Paris is a favorite of mine, although there is not a version with vocals that I'm aware of.

The Gett Off maxi had many instrumental versions, and Lubricated Lady is instrumental of 'Get Off' (or vice versa, can't remember).

The Interactive CD-ROM had the "Race" instrumental too, I think. Man that was a long time ago.
Disco Jellyfish is an instrumental of Chocolate Box

And better than the released track. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Clearly not. You're good at reading. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

I would consider An Honest Man acapella despite the synth added on the end. It would be great to hear more acapella from Prince. I'm sure someone could list all the instrumentals better than I, but Oilcan, Housequake (7 Minutes Mo' Quake), Alexa de Paris, Venus de Milo, Arboretum, Father's Song, The Plan, N.E.W.S. all come to mind "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

Thieves In The Temple Pt 2
Damn U (Eric leeds mix)
and there are a ton of his songs released as karaoke - some rather cheesy renditions, but quite a few are pretty close to his versions.

I can't remember for sure since I haven't listened to it since my album was stolen a few years ago, but isn't Solo acapella? No matter your age, pursue your dreams so that you will LIVE.

For the most part. There is some light instrumentation in it, though.
