RnR Love Affair - Jamie Lewis Stripped Down Mix this came up on a shuffle yesterday.
it actually isn't bad. in fact it's great. except for the beat.
although that probably the only thing Jamie Lewis had to do with it.
I do actually like the original version of the song. but there's an even better production buried in there somehwere.

you do have to resis the urge to skip past it when you hear that beat, and then look at your phone/ipod to see wtf just came on and realize what it is.
it does get pretty decent if you can get past that.

I'm 20 seconds in--if something else doesn't happen fast I'm not gonna make it this time either.

Halfway through--okay--that's new. Fun guitar, I guess. Oh heck, it's getting better every second--and that terrible beat is GONE!!!
It was so overwhelming while the vocals were happening, but this bit through here is pretty darn good (from 3:20-4:15 or so, especially the last 5 seconds or so).
Sucky beat back. But bass/guitar covering it up now.
Okay--is this Prince? I'm having fun. But I hate the way the drummy bits sound. But I'm liking the guitar, even if I'm not quite sure who it is. I can usually recognize Prince instantly--someone with better ears for guitar: Is this him?
That was surprisingly enjoyable--if it weren't for those drums.
Jamie Lewis Club Mix is no good though. And I get to hear that terrible beat again--YAY!!!
Probably gonna stick with Remix 7 as my preferred version--though I'm still not sure he's responsible for that either. [Edited 3/27/13 4:56am]
