Prince, he's not a Jehovah Witness...

Because if you're a man you can't use high heels, no beards or long moustaches or long sideburns like he does. And he wouldn't be knocking on your door anytime soon, so don't expect him to do it. So maybe he's studying the Bible, but he's not a baptized Jehovah Witness.

When you get into a religion, you don't go by all the rules immidietly. you start slowly, adding rules every day.

I thought it slightly strange that he would allow a reprint of an article in his ONA Live booklet, that suggests that he is a Jevohahs Witness, if, as you speculate, he is not.

Towards the end, the show took on a spiritual tone as Prince - reportedly now a Jehovah's Witness - exhorted concertgoers to look to God

Of course, this is not definitive evidence but he's clearly not afraid of people calling him a Jevohah's Witness. Regardless, I'm glad that something is burning his spirit and he's finally translating that soul into his music again.

Jehovah's Witnesses are 'allowed' beards, moustaches and sideburns.

In the Congregation I attend there are a wide variety of hairstyles, beards and moustaches present, particularly among the younger generation.

Larry Graham has had a moustache for years and no-one would dispute that he was a baptised Jehovah's Witness. There is even an article in the Awake Journal regarding Larry. Larry also wears silk flowing gowns, sailors outfits and cowboy hats on stage. That doesn't make him any less of a Jehovah's Witness.

George Benson is also a Jehovah's Witness and he has a moustache. He is also cool.

The door-to-door ministry is an important aspect of being a Jehovah's Witness, but there are alternative ways of witnessing both on the street and informally. In addition one can conduct bible studies.

Peace.

Looking at the lyrics of 'the rainbow children' what Prince says during the ONA shows and what is written in the ONA booklet. I can say without doubt that Prince is a Witness. I don't know what kind of proof some doubters want, it is all very clear, it doesn't merit a 'is he isn't he' debate!

This is clearly not a nice thing to say and certainly a matter of opinion.
My opinion is that Larry is a great guy. talented and gracious. And I would say more people care about what he does than you can imagine.
"Idiot" is not a word to be tossed around. If you do not like him, that's ok. But that does not make him an idiot.

every bad move that Prince has ever done is the fault of Larry.

Larry looks alot like saddam huessain and ive never seen the two of them in the same room together.

Well Said, SensualMelody. I love Larry Graham. He is an awesome musical talent and a fantastic stage presence. Last year at the Celebration during his workshop, he walked into the audience (we were sitting on the floor in front of the stage in the NPG Music Club room); he let some people hold his instrument. He didn't get back as far as I was sitting but I was thrilled that he did come closer toward me so I could see him better. His wife, Tina, was there too and I think she's a beautiful woman and she seemed very gracious. On another occasion, I saw him in a hallway and said "Hi, Larry"; he said Hi and shook my hand. IMHO, he's a good person and he cares about people.

I didn't say he can have a moustache, but not a long one like he does. And no beards, I was a JW when I was a kid and I know all those things. Also I didn't say nothing about the clothing with the exception of the high heels. But it's all good.

I have a question...what's with the not being able to enter another church? An elderly woman at our church had to have her funeral at a funeral home, because many of her relatives are JW's and wouldn't come to the church. What's up with that? Prince didn't go to his mother's funeral because of that, which I think is so sad, and hope he doesn't go to hell for that and ask for forgiveness, because the Bible says to honor thy mother and father. Why do JW's practice so much separatism? I think many more people would embrace religion if there weren't so many man-made rules.

***

Non-attendance at another Church for a funeral is not a 'rule' or standard of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is a matter of personal choice. I personally know of people who have attended other Churches for funerals and those who have chosen not to. Some opt to wait outside the building to show their support.

It is a matter of conscience. Some individuals may feel very strongly about the beliefs and practices of that Church and may feel that it is hypocritical of them to enter it. They may feel very uncomfortable and their attendance might be construed as support. In addition, if they are not joining in the prayers and hymns of that funeral that may be considered by others as rude, and this may cause further upset on an already sad day.

It is not a decision that is taken lightly. Everyone has a personal relationship with God and they must answer to their own God-given conscience. However, if one choses not to attend a funeral it does not indicate that they have not said 'goodye' privately. It does not preclude them from attending the wake or arrangements after the Funeral if they are comfortable with this.

I would however, stress that I personally find that how someone treats you during your life is of much more value. I have seen people at funerals who are there merely because it is an 'event'.

Ultimately, we are not the judge and I would be wary of judging anyone's behaviour particularly when it involves a bereavement.

peace.
