Hey Prince- "Shuggie Otis" wants to JAM with you.

I heard rumors that you jammed with Prince. True?

No, no. But that would be a cool thing to jam with Prince. But I don't know if that's ever gonna happen. I'm up for it, if he wants to do it. I like Prince.

If this were to happen... My brain might explode from how mind bogglingly awesome it would sound... Typically, I'm quite against my brains exploding, for obvious living reasons, but I'm willing to make an exception if this happened... That's how excited I am from the IDEA of such a collaboration...

Shuggie Otis would be a great opening act for Prince. He could bring Shuggie into the consciousness of a bunch of people who've never heard of him and get the chance to work with someone who I image was an early influence.

Something tells me that Prince will invite Shuggie Ortis to jam with him at Paisley Park.

He's a legendary Man who's (imo) equal to Prince in terms of musical talent.

Ahhh... he wrote "Strawberry Letter 23", among many others.

Whaaaa? That might be overstating it a little. I LOVE Shuggie's 'Inspiration Information', but his output, other than that and 'Freedom Flight', has been spotty at best.. I made the mistake of going to see him a few months ago when he came through Seattle....A truly horrible night of live music. That being said, the guy wrote some AWESOME songs.

Shuggie Otis when he first came out was highly respected as a guitarist. He jammed with Frank Zappa and BB King. He was immensely talented and Shuggie Otis was not unlike Prince in terms of being a songwriter and music. Their music is definitely different but it's dope to see someone who is truly UNSUNG starting to get his props.

He was also asked to join the Rolling Stones cool I personally consider him the Prince of the early seventies... Such an underrated talent, I can't wait for the Wings Of Love CD!

When I first discovered Shuggie over a decade ago, I immediately thought he was the missing link between Sly/Jimi/Stevie and Prince.

Prince is the Man! But, I can compile several albums worth of Prince stuff that does nothing for me.

I think it's fair to say that Shuggie had as much potential as Prince, but unless he has archived some of the greatest music never heard, he didn't live up to it.

Granted, Prince has some less than stellar music, but the great music he has made, not to mention that he cultivated himself into one of the all- time great live performers, outweigh Shuggie's contributions by many miles.

I know this of course but one can dream right.
And well you'll never know what will happen at the Fest, P is in Europe at that time as far as I know.

Yeah, I know what you mean. When I became hip to him, all I could think about was what could have been.
