He NEEDS to cover "Moonage Daydream" by David Bowie before he dies!!! He would destroy the world with his interpretation of the guitar solo at the end.

Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!

No more covers, that's all he's done in the last 10 years. He has so much of his own stiff to perform

Sunday Morning by Maroon 5. Not too keen on them now, but that song is a doozy. Reminds me of a Prince song anyway. shrug

I think he should check out some of those classic records by this kid who was all the rage in the 1980s...you know, that "Prince" kid ? And he should make sure that he pays as much attention to the details as he does when he covers other songs such as Crimson and Clover or the same old Sly Stone song for the umpteenth time.

Doing a show with nothing but Prince covers would be a revolutionary and innovative idea at this point in his career.

Leaving 4 New York

do some 1980's protege stuff

but mostly cover his own music

I read at the last show in Texas, he talked about how many

songs he has, and then goes into a run of covers

A studio version of love is a losing game.

Cool for cats. That would be interesting.

I love "Mygodican'tevenremembertheotherones"! Lyrics like a combination of "Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother/Wife" and "Future Baby Mama" (kind of creepy I slept with everybody else so I could learn what I really wanted, so, like, don't worry, you're not just another one) but funkier--you can tell cuz he ran all the words together like Superfunkycalifragisexy or one of those P-Funk tunes.

Actually, I'd like to hear one really well done cover that I haven't heard:

"Cosmic Slop"!!!

I've been wanting to hear a stomping version of that for a few years. I make it up in my head every once in a while--it's wonderful.

BaDum! Bum badabada Bomp! Bum BaDum! Bum Bom Bom BomBoom!

Oh yeah...!

P.S.

Just thought of this... he could include that "Universal lovers" thing from Funkadelic's live version, and either segue in or out of the Universal Love version of "Space" (my favorite version).

Michael Jackson and more Michael Jackson. He should show respect to the king especially after all of the years of dogging him. A Michael Jackson tribute album would be C-O-O-L.

Imagine Prine singing heal the world. I'd throw up and keep throwing up until I was but a husk of skin and a little bit of bone, maybe a spleen or something.

Oh sorry, you were joking. Right?

Good choice. I wonder how he'd get around the line, "Black Velveteen's cunt smells like strawberry kittens."

If he's gonna do covers, I'd like to hear him to do some classic blues, like "Killing Floor" or "I just Want to Make Love to You," off the top of my head.

Prince is the king of pop. I really don't see why he needs to cover MJ.

It just sounds like it would be vomitrocious.
