more shite from the idiot that doesn't have a clue
how the fuck do you know what some people want?
clearly you are fucking wrong as i want to hear music as close to the studio sound as possible, and not distorted by hissing and clicking, and rumble and mains and earth hum or other things that weren't there when the music was recorded
different people like different things. until you understand that simple thing you are going to have problems

No, but they would release the rights as part of a deal that benefited both sides. Such as, Prince owns the masters but Warner has the exclusive distribution rights. Or something like that.
The PDF cover image that comes with the HDTracks release has a Warner Music logo on it. However, this release did not come with liner notes, unlike every other release I have bought from HDTracks. If you own the masters (AND the rigths) why grant WB exclusive distribution rights? That must be an interesting sum of cash and/or deal. (kinda what Bowie did some time ago)
So it was low budget. And the distribution sucks: - It's just for employees of USA, Inc. (at least they intend it like that) - We need to pollute our computers with extra software to download that stuff
What problems do they solve with that? I want to buy but I am forced to use the pirate bay. See what the rentseekers want but what they get instead? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Did you even read and try to comprehend what Bart wrote? Judging from your 'response' you did not. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I may be ignorant on this stuff, but I think that the brain falls in love with the sound of the
first sound it fell in love with and anything different, the brain cancels out. That's my
experience anyway. I mean, most of Prince's stuff sounds fine and all you can do is ADD
stuff that the brain doesn't recognize and it has to process and that takes away from the
original experience you fell in love with and you'll want to go back to the one you fell in
love with. I just don't care too much about it. But...I would love good sounding recordings
of stuff like the original 100 MPH and such because my brain knows it want to love it, but
can't because of the sound quality.
(I think writing that made me sound crazy and I need a nap) [Edited 3/31/13 0:16am]

Hmm. We must do a recount of clipping, low dynamic range stuff or stuff that doesn't even get to -0.1 dBFS?
But...I would love good sounding recordings
Why didn't you get the A.C 2CD reissue? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Uhmmm, what is this A.C 2 CD that you speak of? I am highly interested.

Great choice of word, I admire your vocabulary.
Great explanation of why your comments should convince and why your comments do not line up with Bart's.

I thought A.C. had to mean Andre so I looked it up on Amazon but did not
see 100 MPH. What am I missing? Thanks for your help. I also checked your link but
to no avail. [Edited 3/31/13 1:02am]

Stop bickering about this. Who's ears are good enough to hear
Hi-Def audio anyways and what are you gonna play it through
to deliver it to those said ears? A remaster is fine. Man, you
guys can be anal. | |

There is no remaster as we cannot (`legally`) download it due to the issues I mentioned. Proper distribution, even in the internet age, is still oh so difficult. 100 MPH is not on that album as it is Mazarati and not Andre Cymone.
A.C. is a great album though, well worth purchasing! [Edited 3/31/13 3:12am] RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

A.C. CD was linked to as 8up was interested. And yes, I might have been slightly asleep and confusing 100 MPH and The Dance Electric which is on A.C. Over here 'summer time' is in play again since today. That might be a cause. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... Thanks guys, yeah..I've heard the Maz version of 100 MPH and was
confused why AC would have it on his album unless Prince threw him
a bone because I've never had any of his stuff. Since you guys seem
to like his AC Deluxe album, I think I'll give it a listen.
About the hi-def stuff, wouldn't it have to be remastered to get to that point?
But no worries, I'll take whatever comes out like usual, it's just that everything
I've ever bought that's redone really didn't do much for me, I'm not too excited. The
Beatles did it, Paul McCartney did it, The Cure did it and it all ends up about the same
except when they put some extra stuff on there. Like I said, if I fell in love with a mono
version and then pay for a stereo version...my dumb ears really don't care. lol.

So anyone outside the States tried to buy this via a proxy? just curious.

End? This has just started. Your vocabulary has to grow a bit. And the manure you write about is not coming from me.
Didn't you listen to the new Let's Go Crazy yet? [Edited 3/31/13 4:59am] Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I didn't as they require weird software to download their audio. Maybe that software is an attempt to negate the proxy loophole? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

It's the industry's business model. They do not understand the market. Just download the new version of Lets Go Crazy instead. As for LGC, Already done. I think i was probably one of the first for once. [Edited 3/31/13 5:56am]

Any chance more of his albums will become available this way?
Personally, I had no idea this was happening at all. Was it discussed here before and I just missed it? "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

Personally, I had no idea this was happening at all. Was it discussed here before and I just missed it? I'm betting Dirty Mind and Controversy will be available next. They were remastered for the 180-gram vinyl reissues at the same time as 1999. I predict they will hold back Purple Rain for the anniversary next year. Just my guess though.
