I think it's great that he's working with a much younger, fresher group. I have been harsh in comparing them to Jack Whites all girl band but they seem to have come on leaps and bounds. Well done to P, have to say that Idas' bass is the funkiest I have heard in a P band in a looooong while. It is also great that they are seemingly being given some creative input / freedom, whilst some results might be a bit hit and miss ['Live out Loud!'] at least it gives some young uns the opportunity of a life time and hopefully some great music is on its way.

It seems for the past 7 years he's been giving some younger or a little bit older artists or even dancers, the opportunity to shine on stage with him. I don't think their age can define their talent, moreso than how good their talent really is. I just wish some of the artists he introduced to his fans within those past 7 years to present, had received the same warm, welcome as these last 2 females added to the NPG, seem to be receiving from some within his fan base. I don't think the 3rdeyegirl are the only members of his current band though, but probably just the latest addition to his already extended NPG music family, as well as the horn players, and I think Andre Gouche (sp?), 3 backup singers, and possibly that drummer RBJ, as rumored, but not sure about the latter. Looks like he's using one portion of his band, when he wants to do his rock-based tracks for specific tours, and the other for his more funk/jazz/r&b/blues, etc. portion of a tour.

Also, not to be rude, but he owned his musical talent long before W&L became part of his musical family, (and I mean that with no disrespect towards W or L), especially when he had the influence and inspiration of major musicans/artists like Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Ike Turner, Joni Mitchell and others, just to name a few.

It's always great to see an established artist, who has made it successfully in the music world, extend an unselfish hand to new artists and allow the light to shine on their skills, and also learn from them as well. We shall see what these latest, new members can actually bring to the table. Only time will tell.

As long as he brings the new band to England and plays small venues.

Such as the Plymouth Pavillions in the South West.

prince never said these people were permanent he give them a light 2 be showcased him them out and let them shine on their own. i think more legends should do that .prince is always changing always keeping things fresh.wendy and lisa couldnt last 4vr.people claim shelia is gone im sure be4 the next 2 years is up she will be back on a stage or studio with prince-friends since 78.

I like that he's scaled things down, and trying to find a way to put the music out that works for the fans. I think other artists are watching to see how this will pan out as far as the direct selling to fans goes. Maybe reissues/remasters are going to come out through the website as well?

I hope with this band he plays music and performs in a way that he doesn't end up looking and sounding like the caricature that these fake blogs and fake ass impersonators have been feasting on. With these intimate club venues he can put the onus back on the music and not glittery costumes and back up dancers. The shows are guaranteed to sell out so he doesn't have to worry about packing the place by playing time-worn old hits.

i think it's great what he's doing. very generous, very forward thinking.

If he's not going to let The Revolution play, or The Rebels... and there is no chance in this life that he ever will... then younger bandmembers is the way to go. I think they have the wrong attitude though. They are trying to be wild and loose rock chicks, like Brenda Bennett, but without edge. No cussin', no smokin'. Rated G. That's not what Rock N Roll is. They come off lame. Why are they smiling so much? Prince looked out of place in the Plectum Electrum video. Sort of like the Boogeyman in the movie Sinister. Maybe that's the way to go: Prince can be the amazingly over-made-up boogeyman in the creepy raincoat that terrorizes the cute kids in the band. That might be interesting.

Prince also financially backs and has Kirna Sharma managing the female trio King who just dropped a smoking song yesteday
