Still The Beautiful Ones. It's such a timeless piece for me, so full of memories from my youth. Broken hearted, full of passion, wonderlust, energy, naivity, confidence and doubt. The song somehow fitted my life at that point more so than any song has ever done since. | |

I'm not surprised at all to see 17 Days as one of your two possibilities.
I am surprised that I still feel just fine about my choice of "The Beautiful Ones." I must really like that song.

Seeing that as a choice almost made me balk at choosing again because that's in my top 5 of Prince ever. The opening and closing drum and synth burps alone are enough to make it great. Not to mention that underlying guitar that's revving up in the crescendo. "Climb in my fur." | |

My top 3 choices are: "Power Fantastic", "8" and "If I Was Your Girlfriend", but my favourite song is...
IF I WAS YOUR GIRLFRIEND ... the album version is perfect, but, I must admit, Prince's chanelling of emotion and his quiet exuberance on the 1987 New Year's performance is just haunting and other-worldly.
