its better than practically anything on that album.

I always wonder why he left some great tracks off good records

and put them on weaker records instead.

Love it! Yes, it was recorded along with the material for the symbol album. I'm kinda glad it didn't make it onto that record. It may have ended up with a rap on it or at the very least, edited like the Girl 6 version

She Spoke 2 Me was first available as the first track on the movie soundtrack album Girl 6 (a compilation of music by Prince and associated artists for the movie Girl 6, directed by Spike Lee), and was later released in extended form as the third track on Prince's 22nd album The Vault... Old Friends 4 Sale.

While specific recording dates are not known, initial tracking took place in October, 1991 at Paisley Park Studios (during sessions for the album). The full version (used on The Vault... Old Friends 4 Sale) was edited for inclusion on Girl 6. -PrinceVault

from 3:50 on is intense..love the jazz motiff change it takes...I know jazz purists would scoff (and some other dunderheads here who think they know better) but I think when he does do some jazzy takes they are worthwhile as those who are strictly jazz artists

the last line is when it gets really intense. I love to vocals on this and the guitar solo before the third verse is also very enjoyable.
