Montreux 2009 Prince2013.com advert The video teaser has not been there for a few weeks, but does anyone think these shows will ever see the light of day? Coming soon in the Prince world usually means never, if past websites, teaser vids are an example. "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

I have a feeling that the "coming soon" was more about the announcement for Montreux 2013 than anything to do with a release for the 2009 shows.

You have to go to Paisley to see it "Climb in my fur."

I already saw a little less legal version on a big screen in a movie theater far far away from Paisley Park.

That would really suck ... although I wouldn't doubt it. If Prince does release a Montreaux DVD/download, he'll probably have to split the money with the people who run the concert. I don't think the current Prince likes to share, so for that reason alone, I'm not hopeful. "Love & honesty, peace & harmony"

The advert specifically stated that it was from 2009, and that it was "two shows, over three hours." So while it is indeed quite likely that he won't release it after all (especially since he seems to have already bored of the new website), the advert was definitely promising that the 2009 shows would be release . Of course, the bootleg has been out in perfect quality for 4 years, so I'm not sure that it really matters too much. [Edited 3/10/13 17:24pm] No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. Exactly, that is what I saw as well, 2009 version. I never saw the show but keep hearing great things about it so hopefully it does get the official release it deserves. "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

ah.
well, I never actually watched the advert, so I didn't know it had a message accompanying it.
as for a release.... jeeze, I hope he doesn't release both shows since so much of them are the same. Hope he edits them down into one show with the best versions of the repeated songs.

yes, but if he edits, i hope keeps at least one version of every song that was played (only delete duplicates).

Why wouldn't you want both shows? Then you could decide for yourself which performance of a song was better. P hasn't released a DVD for a decade, and he cut half the show on that one - in this case, more really is more, I would say.

I don't do it for the bootleg DVD or audio. Montreux 2009 causes me to skip around a lot. Editing them into one show for and album/DVD was presumably why he repeated half the setlist in the first place, with no costume change between shows.
