something I've always wondered about Why was Jill crying after "purple rain" was performed in the movie "Purple Rain"? I've never gotten that ~KiKi

cuz she was so touched by his song.
also she really fancies him secretly. in one of the outtakes from the film, she gives him a handjob behind the bar of first avenue, and afterwards he shoved a $20 in her mouth. And she cried because it meant something to her. _________________________________________

I've just always figured it was a combination of:
~reacting to the emotionality of the song itself, and his having dedicated such a powerful song to his father (whose suicide attempt Jill is aware of) ~how Prince's playing of it all indicates a growth in his character and his relationship with W & L ~ because she feels for him so much and she was so touched by HIS emotions and what he is/was dealing with in his personal life and career But I know a large portion of the Jill storyline got cut out of PR so maybe the actual answer to her crying lies in that plotline someplace.

whatever it was they ended up together because she's in Graffitti Bridge playing his fuckbuddy. _________________________________________

It's gotta have something to do w/ stuff that hit the cutting room floor. Then again, maybe they just wanted to drive home the triumph of the Kid that night & tears play it up...

I do think that, I just neglected to mention it in my previous post. It's pretty obvious her character has the hots for Prince by the worried look on her face when she observes Prince and Apollonia first noticing each other at First Avenue, and of course by the obvious flirting Jill does with him. I'd love to know what ended up being edited out in regards to Jill and her relationship with The Kid. It would sure clarify a few things concerning those two characters. That or... she realizes that musically the guy is pristine & there4 could b massive & eventually unattainable... (basically making chances 4 him 2 turn in2 a prick... GOOD) which seemingly makes her just another fan... ... & no that doesnt sound familiar 2 me AT ALL ... Got Gackt??!
