Days of Wild 2002

I just received the Days of Wild Live in Montreal single CD from the NPG webste. 1st, let me say I LOVE all versions of this song...especially the one on Crystal Ball. 2nd, I wasn't expecting much from this version after reading reviews of it on here. But I ordered it anyway and for $5 who cared if it sucked.

Well, all I can say is that this version tops all the other ones hands down. Who cares about overdubbs. All I know is that the funk is just oozing from my speakers when I play it.
I have a "running" minidisc that I made a long time ago that I run to everyday and I added the 10 minute version to it last week. I literally have to control myself from groovin on the track when that tune comes on. Other people in the field house had to think I was high cause I did get a few steps in.

Anyway, for all you who dumped on this version need to stop being so critical. The 2002 version kicks some major ass!

peace

Just in case you're interested, there is another "official" version of 'Days Of Wild 2002', basically the same recording from the same show, but this time without the overdubs. It runs for over 11 minutes.

I just thought you might like to add this superior version to your minidisc instead.

eh, don't bother. it's only longer because the feedback at the end lasts about a minute, rather than just a few seconds. the only other difference is that the "original" has far less overdubs (if any?) - and in my opinion, this song NEEDS them...how can you have days of wild without the "naa naa naa" or "hold on 2 yer wigs"?
No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Mmmm, the fact that this version is not heavy on the overdubs is what makes it so much more palatable for me, feedback and all.

If I want to hear the "naa naa nah" or the "hold on 2 yer wigs" (is that really Mayte???) I would just play the 9th December 1995 version instead. But I love them all, including the much-maligned studio version.
