When did prince start admitting to releasing 'chaff' to warner?

When did Prince start admitting that he was just letting Warner have old songs from the vaults??
i remember reading in an interview that he said that he only gonna give them outtakes from the vault.

Which albums would be the ones he's talking about?

Chaos & disorder
Come
Old friends

a better way to phrase this would be which ones were done because of contractural obligations?

The Gold Experience was a contractural obligation.

The Gold Experience was the Album he Wanted to release.. Come was the obligation. Read the Vibe interview from 94 and he clearly states that Come was the album Warner wanted, and The Gold Experience was the one that will NEVER come out..

I was just being provocative. Although, I still find it hard to believe that The Gold Experience was released exactly how we wanted. mr.green

yeah i hope fo Prince's sake that they made him put the dull and unoriginal segues in.

Rolling stone march 95 interview:
"I have no beef with Warner anymore. They were just doing their job as a company. Although it got nasty a few times, when they made me put in session-hack-raps about the NPG getting 'fonky'"

surely there must be more albums that Prince didnt want to do:

Come is one
Chaos is another
i know old friends is obvious
the offical release of the black album

but what about graffitti bridge? that was made up of old songs to an extent.

What i dont understand is that he got annoyed at them not allowing him to release stuff as quick as he wanted, so he punished them by releasing a bunch of bad albums one after another. that doesnt make sense. Why didnt he just put out good records of stuff that he was proud of?

I don't get why WB was giving him the runaround with The Gold Experience. The songs sound commercial and straightforward. Its not like it was some amazing experimental effort.

yeah, if anything Parade is the weirdest thing he's done and that sold like a truck on fire!

i guess it was due to built up frustration on both sides and change in times. around the Gold album Prince wan't #1 anymore.

I also imagine that while Prince was frustarted with Warner, he wasn't very nice for them to work with.
