Plot The story begins with the assassination of Egyptian Princess Mayte's father by seven unknown assailants. Mayte believes that the assassins were after the sacred "3 Chains of Gold". She sets out to meet with Prince, as she believes he is the only one that can protect the chains from the seven assassins. What follows is a romance between Prince and Mayte, and Prince organizing the assassination of the assailants (accompanied by the song "7").

Asfaik, the vid director was an Australian woman. I think the vid was shot or Ben song partly recorded while he was in Oz in 92 but could b wrong there since most of the album was already done and he performed lots of it on stage. The test-tube was part of the stage show (d&p? It was what he brought downunder). It was a parliament style space-age entry and exit - ludicrous and awesome at the same time. The gun-mike was all over the stage already - also awesome and ludicrous. If you think the two things can't co-exist then I don't see how you can be a Prince fan. Prince constantly confuses as to whether he's being sincerely absurd or ironically outlandish. He takes George Clinton's over-the-top eccentricity and puts a possibly serious face on it. Which is off-putting and intriguing. Is his tongue in his cheek, poking out, or begging to be taken seriously? You don't ask Bootsy, GC or even Flava Flav what they mean by their weirdness co it's clearly for its own sake. With P, you're never sure... (And mayb he isn't either) And in that vein, stop thinking that the lyrics and imagery can refer to only o ne thing... "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"
