Not on the list, but...

Most overrated: Dirty Mind- yes, it's a landmark album, that you can argue is where Prince really found his sound. The songs itself....some great. Does anybody really listen to Do It All Nite or Partyup everyday? The keyboards sound really cheesy at times...like a mix of the Doors and the Munsters theme. Great Album, but can't possibly list it in a Top 7. Top 15 for sure.

Most underrated: Lotus Flow3r(minus the Bria disc and MPLSound) Not a top 7, but I could change my mind on that if I did this list a week from now. Great guitar playing, some really good weird moments that Prince seemed to have forgotten. 4ever is probably the weak link, and Money is great at first, but tiresome after a while...but when I thought Prince was just coasting with good to almost great albums, 3121 was awesome, but Lotus just blew me away.

I LOVE Do it All Night, i'd play it most days.

So anyway mine is straight up Dirty Mind to Sign O the Times. Not the most original of choices I know but I wouldn't be willing to swap them for any of his others.

Hey whatsup? question 4 u, how do you get yourself past "the voice" when you listen to TRC? Just curious as I too enjoy that album but felt it was completely ruined by the voice. I would love to get my hands on a copy with the voice omitted but thats just me. ur thoughts?

I'm nipping round Majas' with Charade, The Black Album and a bag full of bottles.

We could have a listen to those then I'll get her to put Controversy on which should bring Dave round with his copy of The Rainbow Children. If we have it loud enough for twilite to hear, maybe they'll bring Lovesexy. Put that on loud enough for Poplife to hear and they might turn up with Crystal Ball. Blast Crystal Ball out and Fabrizio could turn up with The Truth. Now we're cookin on gas.

All this good stuff would prolly bring Jester and since he's the dish out delegate for 3Eyes we'll be laughin. Especially if he brought One Night Alone with him. If Nesh hears that, she's bound to bring Come with her. Now Maja has some cleaning up to do and I'm in the shit for starting a party round someone elses house.

Since BobGeorge woulda been listening out for anything he's bound to pop over. Would prolly bring It Aint Over round. Whack that on as a distraction tactic and raid Majas fridge, start a bbq and try to fight Dave off the Kareoke.

If we play Sometimes It Snows In april it should bring Crabalocker. If we're lucky they'll bring the Prince album. Since Panties already likes the Prince album, we could play Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad, get someone to squirt in the front garden and he's bound to turn up with Batman and a bouncy castle. Put Partyman on, chop some onions and cry for a minute. Tell Panties to put his clothes back on and hide behind the bbq til it all settles down a bit.

Seriously? A copy without the voice! HAHA; that sounds intense! THE VOICE...(Honestly, and don't kill me for this) allows the Narrative to Flow so much better.

When I first heard the album, it was the voice, that prepared me for the sound adventure I was not expecting! It was just a DARK surprise, that made me question whether or not I had an authentic copy of the album. LOL

Prince has used this effect various times as a narrative. It is just a darker decibel deeper than ' The Exodus Has Begun; and that track is funky!

SO, when listening to this album, the voice does not shake me. I mean, it is a bit slow but it's not everywhere in the album! SO when listening to this album, I always listen to it like a movie. It has great story telling, and while the story kind of gets lost towards the end, it flows quite well. What elements most ruin it for you? Any particular song? OR better yet, could you imagine Prince using another voice on the album?
