If Clive spoke of Prince, would you buy it?

Look up some reviews. Go to a book store and flip through the index.

Or ask on the org! It's perfectly appropriate, Mr. Grumpypants.

In essence, a fraud.

Nope, he doesn't. I was at Barnes & Noble today and looked at a copy. Prince is mentioned 4 or 5 times, but it's always something like "Ray Parker, Jr. recorded everything on his album before Prince showed up" or "Whitney reached the level of Michael, Madonna, Prince..." or "Alicia Keys sang a cover of Prince's 'How Come U..." You wouldn't know they ever talked to each other. Which makes perfect sense--why on earth would he talk about Rave? It wasn't a hit--it wasn't a flop that came in the course of a larger relationship--it wasn't anything, really. It was a one-off that didn't go anywhere and didn't mean diddly-squat in Davis' life.

Maybe Prince would mention it in his book. Maybe not. Since it was probably meant by him to show he could play the game and make a hit album--and it didn't show that at all (no matter whose fault it was), he might not talk about it either.
