So I've listened to it some more. The lyrics are emphasizing how strongly he feels for this girl but aside from that there is nothing in the music that makes me relate to how he feels on more than a shallow level. The music is rather uneventful and mediocre.
Mr./Ms. Otter, I would suggest that it was tobydavies who got aggressive with me. He clearly did not read my post, and yet, he ascribed statements and sentiments to me that I did not express. Got pretty snotty about it, too.
He got as good as he gave, not that it's any of your business. Go post some of your usual rambling, non-sensical blather elsewhere.
There ya go, errant. That oughta finish the job for you.
Without wishing to labour the point, as the subject in question is barely worth the attention it has been given, I actually didn't find tobydavies suggestion particularly aggressive towards you, and certainly not one that would require you to use such an aggressive stance. Perhaps, it's in your nature?

Yeah...okay. Clearly, you are now just
Have a nice day!
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
People who are opining that they don't like this song are missing the point: This isn't a song - yet. It's a sketch of a song, an outline, a doodle.
How many times have we said (well, some of us, anyway), "I wish I could get more of a sense of Prince's creative process? I'd love to hear the evolution of a song." That's what this is. He's letting us into the studio (or maybe his living room) as a fly on the wall. This is a gift, people. Recognize it.
I have said many times that some of my favorite bootlegs are rehearsals. I love to hear him working out arrangements and sound, and cueing the band. Maybe it's my own work as an actor, but I often find the process more interesting than the finished product. I'm really grateful to Prince for letting me get a glimpse into his journey for 88 cents.
So what if you didn't ask to be in on his creative process? A) I never said you did and B) I don't really give a fuck if you like it or not.
Ditto.
"God got Wendy's periods reversed. About every 28 days she starts acting nice. Lasts about a weekend."
Sound familiar?
LOL that's quite true!!! She needs to stop bitching and being overly aggressive!! I've had issues with her before, but because Prince is temporarily in her good books (quite a feat) she's deflecting it off him and trolling orgers instead!!!
I did not find anything aggressive in tobydavies's post, he was offering an opinion which is what this forum is for!!! All spirit otter was doing was mediating not being provocative.
If she doesn't want to hear who dies in Downton Abbey she needs to shut it now!

Go ahead, smartass. You're a day late and 88 cents short - the finale was on last night in the States.

Just listened to it again. Smooth, giving me a "fresh cut grass" feeling. Very evocative. If he made an entire CD like this I'd be happy. It'd be up there with "The Truth" album to me.
Are you serious? It's not worth keeping for me. Shouldn't even be in the same sentence as The Truth. Takes all kinds I spose.

As soon as I read "acoustic song" on this forum my heart sank a bit. I'm not usually a fan of purely acoustic Prince songs, and this one hasn't changed my mind.
I don't really like it. It's by far my least favourite of the songs realeased so far through 3rdEyeGirl.
I will give it more listens but this could possibly be my least favourite Prince song ever.
Just my personal opinion ... everything else from 3rdEyeGirl has been fantastic.
I was starting to think i was the only one..100% agreed!
Wow, the most demo-like song Prince has ever released!
Sounds like he's recording a good idea on a dictaphone or something - just trying out things and returning to the good hook of the chorus. Probably has some lyrics jotte ddown, but making up a few more as he goes along.
Very private.
The lo-finess of the recording suggest that this may be a much older recording that we think? Or that he is using old equipment? Or that he records this on his mobile or something? We may get the file in a WAV, but it certainly comes form a much lower bitrate initially - you can hear that on his voice.

Does it say "demo" on the 3rdEyeGirl website? Nope! Did we pay to download it? Yes!
This isn't a bootleg. It's an official release and we're allowed an opinion on it.
I've personally never asked to listen in on Prince's creative process. I'm happy just buying and listening to the end product. In this case the end product doesn't do a great deal for me. But that's okay.
um... how exactly are we suppose to rip the songs to a cd if their in .wave and .zip files?????
I can't even listen to the shit in my car because of that. Screwdriver and Breakfast, I could burn but not Boyfriend or That Girl. Am I suppose to listen to the new songs strictly on my computer????

Yup.

if you open the file in itunes, add the album info (artist, album) go to the track in the library right click on the track and go to create mp3 and it will do just that.
