I assumed the same as you. The thought of a protege album didn't enter my mind until I came here and saw so many people making that assumption.

I'm going to theorize that this video clip was supposed to be seen prior to the 3rdEyeGirl.com site going up and that "LOL" was going to be the first track/video available.

But then with the release of "Screwdriver" on iTunes, Purple Music and Amazon, and the positive and mainstream reaction that it got, they went ahead and launched the website to draw attention away from those outlets and to take advantage of the Grammy appearance.

I'm just guessing here, but the "Coming in February" makes me think this was supposed to be the beginning of the 3rdEyeGirl store and that it was probably meant to be released prior to the website putting up any music for sale.

the 3rdeyegirl is the good looking woman named Hannah Ford. She's was probably texting on the 3rdeyegirl twitter account at the end of the short clip when the question about what 3rdeyegirl is was asked

Maybe 3rd Eye Girl is the name of Prince next album, which so happens to be the name of his next band. Look, New Power Generation was orginally a song then latter turned into name of his touring band. Just a wild guess, I know lol

14 songs have been recorded according to the latest drfunkenberry spreecast... set to release after promo vid would be ready...

so, indeed, i am quite optimisitc a new album is due to be released in february
