One of my favourite shows, in general, but this one in particular was GREAT. I love how deep and yet light you guys manage to walk the Prince analysis; you had me seriously laughing at times. Thanks a million for great entertainment and critique. It is one of the few and rare fan-based efforts of consistently high quality.

love,
Spirit

Yeah the review of the title track alone took up my whole ride to work!

Great show guys!!! I like how Toejam was all over the lyrical contradiction

between those 2 lines in Space & Letitgo.

I was surprised, but entirely pleased to listen all of the praise heaped on to

Solo. I've always really liked that one. Also thought it was nice to see this

album score so high in the end.

"Hyperactive when I was small, Hyperactive now I'm grown, Hyperactive 'till I'm dead and gone"

Thanks for a great and entertaining review yet again, guys smile

I loved this album when it came out and now I re-discovered it smile

Pheromone is one of my favourite tracks, its probably deepest, darkest funk he's ever done. Today I will play it so loud.

Cheers

This show reminded me that I did a music video for Papa for a film & video production class I was taking in Mpls when this cd just came out. I think I still have it on a VHS tape.
Most powerful scene: "Don't abuse children" (I pointed at fake gun at the camera), "or else they'll turn out like me" (pointed another fake gun at my head). Award winning stuff right there, I tell ya.

I recently listened to the album with the lyrics for the first time. Courtesy of the Databank Transcription Team the "weird" background vocals in "Pheromone" are actually saying the following:

"Pheromone make a nigga go crazy, fuckin' around make a nigga wanna die"

Is that one hundred percent accurate? Maybe not but it certainly sounds right to me.

Another great review. I agree with Toe Jam mostly this time. Come is my favorite track, too. And overall it's a decent album that is definitely a grower. When it first came out, everthing after Space was questionable to me. But I now I appreciate it a lot more.

I think one of you said Chronic Freeze is actually Prince. I believe you're mistaken. There was a great Q&A thread awhile ago here on the Org with Chronic Freeze. He was an engineer with Prince during some of his most prolific periods. He asked that the thread be taken down, but google is your friend.

Here's a discussion of the Chronic Freeze Q & A: http://prince.org/msg/3/323241
