3rdEyeGirl Site has nothing on it Just went onto 3rdEyeGirl's website and saw that everything was taken off of it :O. What do you guys think happened? Either Prince pulled the plug on the website or he's planning to do something to it. Either way, it looks like I won't be able to buy the Screwdriver video or Boyfriend like I wanted to. Something's happening? I just tried it, all the tunes were gone but 3eyes was still sniffing her finger.
Now it's not connecting at all. He's prolly just upping a load of remasters, triple-albums from the vault and some film.

I was on there half an hour ago and noticed that if you clicked on pretty much any page but the front page - Cart, Account, Privacy Policy, Terms, etc - it just brought up a 404 message.... this page does not exist. | |

I'm on UK time and I've checked 3rdEyeGirl.com repeatedly over the past 14 hours. The site has been up and down like a tart's knickers.
I'd love to see more material appear on there, but I think this is just another case of the site being handled by someone who doesn't know what the hell they are doing. Adding 4 new tracks (if that's what's happening) shouldnt make the style sheet disapear (the site was appearing completely unstyled for several hours earlier today), make the existing products disappear, or just break the site completely.
I'm really excited about the new material Prince is realeasing, but I find the 3rdEyeGirl site frustratingly shit and ultimately I think it's going to cost Prince sales. There's a lot I like about Prince's recent approach, but the implementation of 3rdEyeGirl.com isn't good. | |

I did a little dig on the website code, here's what I found, I've bolded the most hmmm interesting parts.....
Bizzyweb seems to be a Minny based site dealing with WordPress (which u don't really need to hire a company to do if you know what you're doing in Wordpress as its mostly template based as far as im aware?!)
Not sure why they seem to keep taking it down, it's not necessary to do this to add new items or to change things, you just work on it 'offline' and upload the new version ontop of the original when ready LOL

So the site is back, and looking a bit slicker, but has anyone noticed that every link leads to the 404 now? Not only can you not access your account page, but you can't even make a purchase.

For some reason, I don't mind the, shall we say, "quirks" of this site. There's some charm in the low tech, straightforwardness of it. I'd rather have this, even with its down periods and imperfections, than a glossy site with little original content and a high price to even use. I'm getting new songs without a lot of complications.
