If Prince Put More Songs On ''Sign ''O'' The Times''

So Sign ''O'' The Times all together is 79 minutes long and can pretty much be put onto one disc.

So just for fun is Prince put all 16 songs on disc 1 what do you think could have filled disc 2?

Maybe with some B-Sides? ala Love Or Money, Irrestistable Bitch, How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore, She's Always In My Hair, Erotic City etc.

Or maybe it would have just been a bunch of original songs for the other side.

What do you orgers think could have on disc 2 of the album if all from the 2 disc were on 1?

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

it's actually 79:58

plus about 2-3 seconds of silence between tracks

for verry little, all 16 tracks don't fit one single CD. sorry. confused

(though I'd love a HQ version of A Place In Heaven ...)

79:58 does technically fit on a CD. there can be manufacturing issues, however, so they're usually limited to being under 77 or 78 minutes.

79:58 is no problem on a CDR though.

I wish he could've squeezed "Witness" on there... but that's the beauty of playlists, eh?

Rebirth Of The Flesh is a great track but seem's a very odd way to start out an album lol

Why songs from a different era entirely? Why even think to do that?

This was his most fertile recording period as far as i'm aware (86/87) so yeah stuff from then would surely be the way to go.

I think if you use the single edit of "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" you could fit the album on one disc. And then the extended version could have been on the 12",

Then Prince could have put all the remaining Camille songs and the remaining Crystal Ball songs on the second disc.

This is fun to play with playlists but I really thing Sign "O" the Times is perfect the way it is,

Since I'm so used to the outtakes and the tracks that came out on the '98 Crystal Ball release I've always had trouble viewing SOTT as just the 2CD/2LP record that came out. When I think about "how great Sign O The Times really was" I probably have all of the music associated with that era in my mind.

I would have preferred the 3LP Crystal Ball release, no doubt. Really wish he would put that one out officially one day.

Adorecream

My list I would fill it with Outtakes

0. Crystal Ball

1. A Place in Heaven

2. Visions

3. Big Tall Wall

4. Good Love

5. Crucial

6. If I love u 2 nite

7. G Spot (Prince version)

8. Interlude (0.59)

9. Train

10. Witness for the Prosecution

11. Go

12. In a large room with no light

13. Empty Room

14. All of My dreams

Disc 1: SOTT as it was released but remove "Its gonna be a beautiful night" and you have a 71 minute, 15 track album of Pure Gold.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Agreed. I love this track but I have always felt this should have been on Lovesexy. This track is the perfect combination of Black Album and Lovesexy.
