Now, this is a poem "Message", that is specifically
tellN somebody to stop thinkN 2 hard and
to STOP ignoring a Truth. The MAN is pretty much sayin, "wake up girlie girl, I've waited enough and get her DESTINY in his house of cards, period!"

I have absolutely NO idea, who it is... nor is IT my business but whomever, she is...I'm rootN 4 her!

(scratches head) That part seemed to not fit but what I reckon it sounds like he meant is he's telling her to change her mind about going a certain direction, "race cars" or "fast lane" and to slow down and realize that its him she needs to be with, not whatever else she thinks it is thats important. I could be way off but thats what I gathered.

My final words on this topic.

Mr. Nelson is NOT one to sit back for long
watching the grass grow for more than 7 years. In fact;
Seven Years is a sacred number for change and choice albeit
oft times the choice can lead you back to making the
right choice when the wrong one was made...
even still the difference here is the fact that...

He knows what he wants and when he makes up
his mind he goes and gets it, period.

He isn't going to throw little scraps of hunts out to the
world in hopes she will get it...He simply put: Gets with the person
asks questions to see firstly how they feel and their thoughts on things.
Only then, as a gentleman will be pro-active about a choice. If the female
he is interacting with does not get it or is not in the same page,
then as a gentleman, he does not force his will on her and he then lets go.

This poem is a message telling the girl/woman that is currently (physically) around that he knows the direction she is going, since he has been in the same position before to recognize his worth before he has to make the decision to end it.

I have no idea why I feel it some times it just is.

He does not play head games and in 2013 it's got to be straight forward tennis balls 2 the wall truth.

Loved this poem by Prince & thought it was intriguing indeed. R we sure it ain't words of a new song? If it is a message as some have speculated, & if he's with this person, then why just not tell them in person or by mail instead of it being made public through cryptic clues. Why involve the fans? Crossed my mind what if he's not yet in personal contact with the subject of this poem? I do wonder if the person who it's intended for is even aware or knows it's directed at them. hmmm
