No thanks, Serp, Anyway, I think you got the wrong impression from my post, as I didn't mean I saw it first, as if saying I saw it before you. I should have worded it differently, to say I saw that advertisement over at that site earlier today, before reading your post about it here. That's all I meant. I corrected my previous post. All is well and good. [Edited 2/7/13 21:16pm]

News gets snatched from my Twitter unquoted all the time, haven't got time or energy 2 take up with that. But 2 see u post stuff here as if others had posted it b4 me rubbed me the wrong way. As u said "Saw that first posted over at..." instead of "I saw that..."

Oh lawd, that's not what I meant though. I went back and read my response and saw how it could have been taken the wrong way, and corrected it. When I saw your post, was just letting you know I saw that info on another site. I have no idea who snatches what from whom. It's all good...geez... [Edited 2/7/13 22:13pm]

May I ask why it matters who said it first? I've noticed that lately there seems to be a competition to be "The One Who Has the Hand on the Pulse of Prince News"...
Is there a "Purple Prize" if you get the news out before anyone else?
It's exciting to hear new things, but is it really that serious?

U r quoting and asking the wrong person, ask 2elijah as instead of saying something nice she felt the need 2 limit her reply 2:
"Saw that first posted over at 'Welcoime2thedawn experienceblogspot' earlier today."

^^Lol Serp, it was clearly a misunderstanding as I explained in my previous post, so it's best to just let it go and move on. [Edited 2/8/13 6:07am]

No, I quoted the one i was addressing... You come off like you're "the official word of Prince" lately... jumping on every bit of news, posting crazy amounts of pix, referencing your Twitter in your Sig...
The fact that you got bent out of shape about 2elijah's comment caused me to ask why it matters...

I really would love to be there.
And for the peeps who will be there: have fun and enjoy every second of it! 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Just looked at the Carnegie Seating chart. Tix sold fast.
As of 4:20pm EST, today:
Balcony seats: 1 left Dress Circle: 5 seats left(not counting the many obstructed view seats left) Right Parquet: 16 seats Orchestra Parquet: 3 seats Left Parquet: 12 seats
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah, but I would not only have to pay for seats, also a plane ticket, traveling around town, hotel, diners etc..
I just can't have it all. That's okay. I'll read over here how it was.

That's understandable. I figured by the time the Grammys aired, most of the seats would be sold.

looks like there are only about 40 or so tickets left for Carnegie Hall. see you there!!!

Lucky those you will be able to attend this concert..
Weird thing happened to me, approximately a year ago, I just dreamed of Prince, as often I do: I was walking in some streets which looked like nothing I knew or recalled..A place where I have not been; I was waiting to see Prince perform, outside of the Place where the concert would take place, there were some velvety big red curtains, The place was high roofed, kind of light beige colored with red seats, The stairs inside were very narrow I enterred the place, I could see a kind of "old" stage, as into "the Opera" in Paris, I was introduced to Prince, he shook my hands and hugged me, he had a back ache, still, he was willing to sing and perform..I asked, are you tired? He said "yes" he was feeling pain Prince got on stage and I woke up..........
Today, I've decided to check for the Carnegie concert and see whether I could afford, at my very huge surprise, the stage looks exactly the same as in my dream!!!
This is sooooooooo weird, soooooooooooo amazing.!!!
Too bad, I won't be able to make this dream come true, because am here in Paris, airplane ticket, the concert itself...
Kind of sad, I won't be able to afford and make this dream come true We make our own way to heaven everyday

Why is Meshell Ndgeocello not on this bill??!!!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Her name was on there about 3 weeks ago, with D'Angelo, but then both their names were off the list, and then D'Angelo' name was put back on, so I guess Meshell will not be part of the tribute, well, at least as far as the current list is concerned.

That's too bad cuz Meshell does Prince justice! She is another brilliant artist.

Hot off the presses. Have just confirmed the band will be playing the show at Carnegie Hall on March 7 alongside Elvis Costello, D'Angelo, Booker T Jones, Betty Lavette, The Waterboys, Talib Kweli, Blind Boys of Alabama and more plus our friends The Roots. Sadly 'Bean won't be with us due to a pre-existing commitment. (Neil, Square One Entertainment)

I saw it at www.carnegieprince.com (See below) Looks like that site didn't update their list yet. It's still showing the same names as before. Maybe there are more acts to add. I guess they'll do it soon.

Jones • The Waterboys Citizen Cope & Alice Smith D'Angelo • Blind Boys of Alabama DeVotchka • Amos Lee • Bilal Bhi Bhiman Princess feat. Maya Rudolph & Gretchen Lieberum with The Roots as your House Band with Eric Leeds, Wendy Melvoin and Suzannah Melvoin

I'm a female by the way, so 'bro' won't work.
Yes, I see now that the Carnegie Hall Prince tribute site, has updated their list, to include 'Fdeluxe' as part of the acts performing on that night (I noticed that they spelled Fdeluxe's name wrong on their site though. They forgot to add the 'e' on the end.)
Featuring (subject to change without notice: *Elvis Costello•Bettye LaVette*Talib Kweli•Sandra Bernhard*Booker T. Jones•The Waterboys*Citizen Cope & Alice Smith*D'Angelo*Blind Boys of Alabama*DeVotchka•Amos Lee•Bilal*Bhi Bhiman•Princess (w/Maya Rudolph)*FDeluxe (formerly The Family)*(with) The Roots as your House Band[Edited 2/14/13 17:20pm]

Carnegie Hall website shows very few seats left - most sections are sold out - so I wouldn't wait long to get tickets ... unless you want to pay VIP package prices. I got $48 balcony seats a few weeks ago. Can't wait for the show! Even if Prince doesn't show or play, I think it will be an excellent show.
