odd....looks like prince may finally get his long awaited "comeback"

odd thing about people who live through the net. they don't contribute to an existing thread when they don't have anything poignant to say about this masterpiece.

I found it very poignant.

About as much as saying I'm your driver and you're my screw-ee-ohh-ee-oo.

Now, you mentioned masterpiece....thanks for that, it made me pull out Tom Waits - Bad As Me. A newer album from a 60+ year old man still innovating with sounds and music with his ever moving forward artistic vision........No wait, Prince said old people are stagnant in their art and always want to stand still.....better put on Screwdriver then, ay?

Ok, i'm being humorous and i'm actually one of the positive Prince people around here, but some of his recent antics (billboard interview) and music (RnRLA, Screwdriver) has been shocking.....i still think he may be punking us.

I dig the song, but it is in large part because Prince is (GASP) promoting it. Many Prince songs have deserved his full attention and a good push and didn't get it ("So far, so pleased"). Some got a push, and it was unwarranted ("Betcha By Golly Wow").

Every now and again, the Prince song that has the sound for a broad appeal gets promoted. This may be one of them.

I like the song too, except the "I'm your driver, you're my screw" part which sounds a bit embarrassing to me somehow...

but that's like, most of the song... . it's not an especially clever hook, but it all works somehow. the lyrics aren't very "sexual", so the 2 cancel each other out in some way.

I like it when he sings it at the end of each verse. But the repeated "I'm your driver, you're my screw" part later on in the song annoys me a bit. Still a very well produced and catchy song though!
