Content of a new Prince album To the .Org,
If Prince did release these songs on a new album, how would you predict the strength of the album?

Also, based on what you have heard of these tracks (the production, lyrics, melodies, vocals, depth) what elements do you think are sublime and what do you think might be missing?

If? He won't.
I assume Screwdriver, but the rest I doubt it. C&V is an improvised funk jam, not an album cut at all. YWBWM I'm sure was given to Allo, or hell maybe its a song of his after all? R&RLA I'm pretty certain it won't be on the album. Ditto for SPDB. | |

I haven't heard the "U will B with Me" track, but i have heard the others, and I can only remember what Screwdriver soundsl like. The other ones didn't leave much of an impression.
I'd say if he released an album with all of those tracks in the mix, then it regardless of how good the other previously unheard tracks are, they album would have too much filler for my tastes. | |

I only like Screwdriver - the others aren't that good,
Rock N Roll Love Affair is one of the worst songs he has ever recorded.
HOWEVER that "Love" sample was really great imo.. Prince 4Ever.  | |

Judged on those tracks, a real hit and miss like Planet Earth and 20Ten. Like the other orgers say, Rock and Roll love affair is dreadful and does not deserve to be on an album, it sounds like a Robert Cray cast off. Screw driver is fairly good, but its not amazing.
Depends if he wants more solid rock and pop like Screw driver or more contemporary jazzique dross a la Robert Cray like that other song. I think the strength of any possible ballads helps, will they be great or just rubbishy. Plus if he leaves of the autotune, any segues or preachy Jehovahs Witness stuff, and whether he is promoting another squeaky voiced sex kitten protege. Although I like Andy Allo and any duest with her would be more welcome.

It would probably sound like a "composite" album à la Musicology/3121 which I'm cool with (they got their own kinda cohesiveness and it works) but I'm more into Prince albums with a more unified sound.

I'm guessing we may see two different projects get released this year. One pop/rock with the 3 girls and another funky w/some slow burn grooves.
