well hes singles doesn't get any promotion here in Sweden 4 example and his latest physical releases ends up like over priced import singles here. He should definitely try to get a better deal so his music would be promoted properly worldwide

I appreciate everyone's responses. And of course at the risk of sounding too American... these releases are doing very little for Prince in the American market. Jamie Lewis may be a respectable well connected name in the club scene especially in Europe, but Prince is not making club music; and Purple Music doesn't have the reach to push the single in the U.S.

It's kinda sad that Prince has not found a way to promote his productions successfully in the U.S. (again not trying to be geographically biased, but...). Because his own "brand" almost solidified as a legend act who is not doing anything new... and a stellar production like "Superconductor" languishes while Andy Allo basically has to promote herself whether that means calling people up on the phone herself or playing at obscure Xmas tree lighting ceremonies :-/

I think the problem is that when these new songs pop up, there's still quite a bit of a splash on the blogosphere and various music and celebrity news sites, but then by the time it's released, it's 2 or 3 months later and there is no media attention to capitalize on.

His promotion and release strategies aren't lining up. If he's going to continue with this sort of hit and run PR strategy... song pops up out of nowhere online or the radio, gets people to take notice.... he needs to abandon the physical format altogether and have it up on iTunes or Amazon as a digital single immediately.

OR.

he needs to send the track to Jamie Lewis, let him do his remixes, THEN debut the track when the physical product is in place and ready to ship.

there's no momentum to build upon with these last few releases.
