PrintableYep--you two just get into a studio where you're all mic'ed up nice, and set your instruments up right, and get this thing all polished up.
Seriously, this needs to be recorded right and finished quickly and it needs to be simple (PLEASE--SIMPLE!!).
Otherwise, I'll keep listening to it cuz it's pretty and I just know it could be beautiful (even though the way it sounds right now is sort of painful).
I really hope there's a finished version coming soon--and that it's not somehow messed up when it comes. | |

This version irritates me. It's not bad, not at all, I like it.
But I have already listened at the full blown, raw and extremely cocky live version he's doing for quite some time now, for example at the Sziget Festival in Hungary 2011.
This is one of my favorites from the last years, and now it comes with a totally different arrangement that gives the song a total new vibe.
This isn't a bad thing, just irritating. I'll probably get used to it. |

I am pleasantly surprised both in terms of his vocal delivery and how well Prince and Andy blend together on this track. I've long missed Prince doing a track in an effortless falsetto like on his first albums... On the couple of last records he mostly avoided his higher register. U Will B works very nicely, and it does have some similarities to MJ's material without sounding like a rip off. We Can Funk | |

Took me a couple of listens as the new tune threw me for the lyrics. I still can't make some of them out at all. Has anyone worked out the lyrics cuz there seems to be a new verse added? Or am I just totally deef?

Exactly what I thought! Hearing this song after his recent new ones (RNR Affair, Screwdriver) shows once again how incredibly versatile Prince is - both as a songwriter and singer. Someone who does not know him would never ever believe those three songs are by the same artist. His voice is just ... wow. Can't find the words to express how in awe I am once again with our purple genius. | |

Regarding lyrics, I can only say that these lines really touch me:
Andy: "The world keeps calling, what can I do ... they want what they want (?), Baby I want u" .. Prince: "I know they claim u, but I do too .... maybe not tonight, maybe not tomorrow, one day this will be true ..."
What a beautiful love song. For me up there with the best of his ballads. Touched me at first listen. An instant favorite for me! And - I don't think I have ever heard Prince in a ballad duet before ... I mean, other than live on stage. His and Andy's voice harmonize perfectly. It can't be any better!! | |

^^^ same for me. At first I really thought it was a black female voice. Never had a problem recognizing Prince's voice before, but this one threw me off! He sounds so perfectly clear and ... angel-like. Especially when they sing together ... his voice is just incredible!!! I really can't find the words to describe it. | |

I really cant make anything of this song maybe my equipment(ears or media) are not up to it. Very thankful for these releases and when finally Prince gets around to finishing this and providing lossless digital download for purchase on the website it will probably scrub up pretty well.
I'm in no hurry, we've had some much shared for free in the last month. Whether it's days, weeks, months till the site is finally up, is pretty minor in the context that there has been no online presence for quite a long period.
Hopefully the new site will take care of that.... I like many don't have the time to follow all this, but there are 4 or 5 aggregators of repute(...and I doubt that someone who has 1642 posts on the org doesnt know what I'm talking about

Poor quality? Can't you discern that the song is played on a HiFi system but recorded in a largish room with perhaps a handheld type device with internal mics?
In the old days bootleggars added cassette generations when leaking songs so that later they could release better sounding versions. And now you complain when there's just a bit of air between the master of that demo and your mp4 file. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... Yes, Prince's vocals here are truly breathtaking. The wider-public needs to hear him singing like this, and we need a copy in high quality.
I hope the vocals don't lose any of their quality in post-production though. They are far too pure and beautiful to be stifled or over-layered. | |
