ALL Prince albums are worth getting

Do you agree with the above statement?

Even though I'm not so keen on Rave Un2 or ONA Live, I wouldn't want to be without them and there's at least a handful of songs (usually more) on EVERY album of his that I love. I'm so glad that I've got all his albums and if I unfortunately managed to lose/damage one, no matter which one it was, I would be frantically looking to replace it as soon as possible.

Do you agree? Or would you seriously not mind if you didn't own one or two of his albums?

I agree. Even the worst Prince album is better than 95% everything else out there.

What is the worst Prince album? Probably - in my opinion - hmm... i guess I'd have to go with For You, simply because it's not up to par w/ his other works. But For You is still CERTAINLY worth getting.

Thanks for the comment Haystack. I agree with u 100%. Missing one of his albums to me would be like yanking a chapter out of a book. Each album helps define both what came before and what comes after. Love it or hate it is about the "Grand Progression".

I don't own one or two and I don't mind. I've never been a completist. If I truly felt that he never just punched the clock and coasted on cruise control for any single album I'd be a completist. But at one time I did own them all. Although in general I agree about there being at least a couple of good songs on... 99% of his albums.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I agree -- even though New Power Soul is by far my least favorite, I wouldn't want to do without it.

That's the reason why I joined the NPG Music Club both years so far -- I don't want to miss anything, and there was a good chance that stuff wouldn't be released in stores (not all of it, anyway).

The only CD I ever got rid of was Goldnigga -- it was just too awful to stay in my collection. 1999 The New Master isn't that great either, but I'll keep it just 'cuz.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I agree. IMHO, every Prince album, song, movie, etc. is worth getting, having, keeping, taking care of, loving, appreciating, sharing. I find something to like in each and every song: a certain beat, a certain lyric, a certain message.

I disagree.

Then some of the crappy music that is out now is worth getting, right. There has to be one good song on Ashanti's Cd.

NewPowersoul is a bad cd.

OOps!! I forgot...according to one of these threads, I'm not a fan anyway.

lol
