Pheronome is vicious funk. As good as Gett off and SexyMF. I love it. One of his greatest 90s funk. I get myself dancing involuntarily every time I hear it. I'm crazy about this and Solo from Come. Come album while viewd as a throwaway at the time of its release is a fun listen. I think it stands out more today in light of the recent poor offerings but PHERMONE is the JAM. FUNKY AS @#CK. Love the female sound bytes in that one & those Michael Bland hits to the skull drive this song throughout. Always the first track i hit up on this album. |

I like this thread especially because I never paid too much attention to the Come Album -I only liked Loose- but I rediscovered it some weeks ago. DAT ALBUM IS DA SHIT and Pheromone Is my favorite song from that album along with Papa, loose and Race.
The groove on that song is so strong that He could be talking about frozen pancakes and I would still bang my head to it
What I like about pheromone is that the song is very descriptive and it has different interpretations depending on how dirty your mind is. At first I thought the song was about rape or something. Then I thought It could be about voyeurism...
Then, basing my theory on the part that says "What happens next it all depends upon your style" I could say that the whole couple having sex/Prince watching thing is nothing but a Fantasy. Maybe Prince is the one who's watching and the one who's banging the girl at the same time, who knows...
