Rehearsal or try out its a cool jam

A bit short, I wish it kept going. I'd love to hear more of the rehearsals

Btw... why does prince have on sunglasses on in what looks like an dark environment

nice to see this song getting some love again, whatever version,

since it's a total banger. always loved it.

it's cool to hear how these songs are interpreted over the years

by prince. this one never changes too dramatically but there are

always some new details. i love that.

anyway, like this take a lot. the vid is a nice extra to go with it

Obviously P is doing what he does best, but the rest of the band............................ !!

Compare it to the Undertaker version, and it's shite.

I think the druming is a bit off, But thats why its a rehearsal

Some one may have mentioned this was from try outs? im not sure

Rythym guitar is all over the shop aswell imo.

And yes i understand that its a rehearsal, but Im amazed/shocked that P has allowed for this to be posted, when we all know how much of a perfectionist he is.

Maybe it IS a fresh new start. Or he's just given up.

Listing on crappy laptop but Bass seems OK and drums not quite right for me.

Listining for the 4th time in a row now and what I think is it is they band can not follow Prince like Michael B and Sonny T as in subtle changes as the song progresses.

Maybe practice and time will see this develop.

And whats with the constant squatting and moving while playing guitar Donna, looks like you need to go to the toilet and are holding it in

The woman playing the lead riff can't bend the note properly...need Prince to belt that one out.

Why is the bass player slappin the bass so much. it's a rock song. rock out!!!

You're right. But believe me she is a great guitar player. She has a rich vocabulary on the guitar and she can play some quite technical and sophisticated stuff. I invite o check her work on youtube for instance.

Would still be the best sollution for pretty much stuff when it comes to Prince music nowadays. These cats fit so good to him!!!! Damn! NPG .... an there's only ONE!

I watched the video again and I have to say I missed something you missed as well apparently. After her bends, her vibrato is making the note right everytime.

I have never heard a bad version made by Prince of this song:

I love this song, but this is the worst version I've ever heard. And it's not prince's fault, the other band members need much more rehearsal time to get it right.

Sorry, don't want to be negative because I'm happy that prince is so generous to share all that stuff, but that's how I feel about this video. The other songs are good imho.

I'll just qoute myself here:

Here's a newly released video of Prince and his new keyboardless band of hot, young white chicks. They are doing a very old, fairly douche-y Prince song about a lesbian named Bambi who won't fuck Prince. Prince sings "Bambi, can't you understand? / Bambi, it's better with a man". Every time I hear this I think to myself "You would know!"

I like the new guitar player. Hope she stays.

Overall, I like the dynamic of the all-girl band and the rawer, stripped down sound.

P, get the NPG boys back. His guitar playing here is very different. He's trying for a different, almost progressive rock sound.

Rarely see him wit a solid body guitar. Hmm.

I guess the pretense here is supposed to be that these samples are being released by 'bootleggers'. Now there's a page there that says the video was taken down due to a copyright clain by Controversy Music. I don't think anyone believes this isn't Prince who's putting this stuff out, though. He really doesn't understand the internet or social media.

Rehearsal or not. One of my absoulte fav P tracks, and it made me come out of Org posting retirement to comment. F*cking love it. It aint perfect, nor is it supposed to be.

Okay without the video to distract me I just listened to the song. Rehersal or not it's fucking shockingly poor. Not Prince (at least I hope not!) but the guitar playing takes me back to practice sessions with my mate when I was in school. Bends were so hard to get right twenty six years ago, never being able to achieve a note that was neither flat nor sharp. Starting on a bend is always awkward and takes quite a lot of experience (and guitar familiarity) but this performance was painful on the ears.
