If you actually care to look at the link, it says it happened in 1997, so yes he was married to Mayte. In fact, Mayte was with Prince in the Bryant Gumbel interview that precedes this incident, where he asks Prince if he ever wears khakis or shoes like Bryant's - that's why he comes out dressed like him here.
