Why do we scream at each other?

Found this picture. Don't know if it's been posted before but it's still a valid question today.

Ha!

Except for the fact that both are "Maybe I'm..."

My wife told me she had the lyrics wrong at the time--she thought Dad was "too cold" and Mom "never sat inside" (one assumes to get away from Dad, which is why movie-mom is sitting outside, but my wife never saw Purple Rain until after we got together years later).
