Prince art-like Album covers.

Wuz good Purple Rain Nation? It's $IR_N@sstee I was just going through a few Prince album covers the other day.

I want 2 know the opinion of u all and or maybe get some input on what u think Prince's Top 5 most Art-Like

album covers are?

Here are some of the ones I picked no order.

1. Sign "O" the times, very artsy innovative album cover.

2. Rainbow Children

3.Under The Cherry Moon

4.1999

5.Dirty Mind.(Honorable Mention: Around The World in A Day)

It can be more and I am sure there are more but just 5 that stand out in your mind.

In closing I do hope Prince comes with the music in 2013 30 yrs ago in 1983 he was still touring 1999

and was quiet beyond the Triple Threat Tour and I am sure we all remember Y that was bcuz 1984

was the Year Of Prince 4 sho.

hyperpessimist

Around the World in a Day

Lovesexy

Parade

1999

SOTT

honorable mention: black album

Damn, his 80s reign can't be beaten, even when it comes to cover design! I'd love to include others (Come, Hits+B-sides, 3121) but the truth is... the above 5+1 -are- his best design. It was alreday getting dodgy, but it absolutely went downhill after he went indie...

I'm not always a big fan of his album covers but from 1980-1987 not only was his music at it's peak but so were the album covers IMO. I even find the Dirty Mind album cover quite cool, which some people don't seem to like.

His album covers have never impressed me that much. I really tried, but I only sort of like two covers.

1. Lovesexy. I like the cheecky flowers and his dress code.

2. 1999. I apreciate it that a 'mondane' thing as the font of the title becomes art.

He's good with music. Cover design is not his forte.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I have to co-sign with u...he is very talented musically his album covers from 1980-87 pure art 2 me. More so than others not so much in the 90's he even started 2 fall off musically but still liked the DIAMONDS & PEARLS cover from the 90's .

I have to say I really like the cover of The Beautiful Experience even though it was just an e.p cover. IMO it's better than any of his albums covers of the last 18 years since. (I'm thinking of buying the vinyl record just for this cover)
