There was 4 songs that came out on youtube for 2 days..."better grab em while u can" style as with any bootleg in my opinion., just like the rehearsals and other soundboard recordings that were uploaded. There was another bootleg clip released but taken down the same day too on another website. Nothing different than any other bootleg time release. I dont know why some fans are all up in a ruckus about it all. You got it or you dont..and if you dont, somebody does.

I got the 3rdyeGirl releases, but I'm still not understanding what is going on with Prince. I do think that the Bambi rehearsal was great, but outside of that....

1. RNR Affair Remix: Yuck!

2. Laydown Xtended: Meh...not a major improvement over the original version. Honestly, I'm glad to keep the 20-Ten version rotating on my playlist.

3. Same Something or Another: Blah...It's okay, but nothing to write home about.

I am desperately trying to be excited about what Prince currently has brewing and I'm just...not. I'm not crazy about the new band, the new songs, NOTHING! I hope he gets bored with this and changes courses soon.

On a more positive note, I did think Andy Allo's album was excellent...I guess I'll just have to stay tuned to see what comes of it all.

Curious? Sure, always curious. Amped and stoked? nope.

I am however pretty excited about 2013 as a year in music in general. Some really highly anticipated stuff is going to drop from several artists.

That's what's got me confused... If this stuff is really meant to be a viral marketing campaign, I imagine it's very, incredibly, extremely ineffective. The only people who hear about 3rdeyegirl are the hardcore fans. The only people who actually get excited by 3rdeyegirl are a subset of the people who would buy any new Prince album anyway.

So if Prince understands this and doesn't mean for 3rdeye to generate hype for a new album, maybe he's just playing games with the hardcore fans 'cause he thinks it's fun and we'll like to play along. But a lot of people (including myself) just don't care about that and want announcements with concrete information.

Neither possibility makes sense to me.

I'll make a prediction. His next album (or group of songs) will be the most bootlegged one of his career. Moreso than 20Ten, which was heavily bootleged. Not out of interest, but because folks are still trying to get their money's worth.

Prince has always been a little different and definitely a fasincating character, but I hate this shit. He needs to grow up and start releasing music the right way and while I'm at it, remaster his shit and stop changing the lyrics. It's so hypocritical.
