At the risk of being prematurely negative, I must express that Touré has always come across to me as a vapid ass, and the superlatives attributed to the book by Questlove, Q-Tip, etc seem suspect. That said, I hope my library gets the book so I can check it out!

Javi	I started a thread some weeks ago asking about this book, since I don't know nothing about the author. So Questlove has praised it?

I would take ?uestlove's praise with a pinch of salt given Toure is among the people of his circle, at least until you read it.

I remember reading an article about this book last year, and if my memory serves me right, this one is an essay book, not a bio.

Always have been on the fence about Toure, but I will give this a look nonetheless.

Yes, it seems to be an essay: it has the subtitle "Why Prince became an icon", and it's too short to be a bio (less than 200 pages, according to the Amazon description). I'll give it a look too.
