Prince Songs You Used to Hate and Now Love

Some one on a previous post about Lovesexy verses The Black Album about how great the song Glam Slam is. I used to HATE that song. But that post made me revist the song after a LONG time and this time I GOT it. I have been playing it constantly for the last two weeks. It started me to start revisiting other tunes I wasn't crazy about and discovered Temptation is decent (still hate that ending tho), Do U Lie? in its moment isnt as cringe-worthy as it used to be and Sexy MF is fun as hell. Still hate Graffiti Bridge song and My Name is Prince is still horrible. Anyone else done this before? Any tunes used to hate and now love or at least can listen without puking?

I never hated "Life Can Be So Nice," but I skipped it from 1986-1997. Sometime around 1998 or so it became in my Top 5 on Parade. I always liked "TBO Dorothy Parker," but sometime around 1990 it became Top 3 on SOTT instead of maybe 11th. "Starfish And Coffee" had a weird effect on me. I loved it in 1987, and pretty much ignored it from 1988-1997, and around 1998 started loving it again.

I have hated Tony M from Day One, and will never change my mind. That 100% total corny cringe worthy moment with his "Mr Money Minder" speech at the end of the horrible "Jughead," just kills me. I have not heard "Jughead" more than 3 times since 2000, unless you count the times I was too lazy to skip it on my few Diamonds And Pearls Tour boots.

I never cared for "Good Man" before, but last year I listened to it and fell in love with it! I didn't care for "The Sacrifice Of Victor" but a few years ago I just let it play, and now its one of my favorites from his 90s era. It took a few years for me to get into "Race" as well.

I wasn't really a fan of Dorothy Parker for awhile. I slowly warmed up to it and now it's one of my favorites

I use to hate the whole Parade album, but now I like it, cause it reminds me of spring/summer, and it relaxes me. Plus the arrangement and instruments used in there is CRAZY!!!! Also I use to dislike the song 3121, but now it has grown on me. biggrin

Something In the Water... probably because 1999 is just a BEAST of an album, I even liked Free more than this. Now its the reason I put 1999 on!

Funny, I love all the songs you mentioned. The ones you started to love and the ones you still hate. Graffiti Bridge is one of the songs that saves the album, imo. And it's very close to Paisley Park and The Ladder from ATWIAD.
