loved it... been a pro muso for 18 years and some of the technical critique on this thread is... creative to say the least. If you think it has to be dead on how Prince played it the first time, you're following the wrong musician

I don't know it's a little brutal, mainly the drums!!

It was a Tokai Strat actually. Stripped of paint, fluorescent nobs, pink pickups... Steve Vai and co had a lot to answer for.

Shocked? This is a guy who let Tony M in his band, let Tony M rap about manure in My Name Is Prince, and let's Shelby shout at the top of her lungs for people to "Put Their Hands Up, Make Some Noise." And you are shocked he let a sloppy rehearsal get out? He is a moody nut job who can go from Genius to Corny in 4 seconds. Just don't ever be shocked at anything he does. Don't be shocked if we get an amazing album, and don't be shocked if we get an amazing tour, or if we get a crappy tour. Little he can do to amaze me.

Just for clarification they are not all "white" girls. The drummer is mixed, her mother happens to be black. Besides all that I happen to like this verison of Bambi. The band sound was excellent...especially compared to the bull we have to listen to on the radio these days.

Who are these people he's playing with? I enjoyed the clip. Not sure why everyone's being so hard on it. Did you you notice it's labeled "rehearsal"?
